Abstract: Aspects provide a mechanism for activating a secondary serving cell (SCell) in a wireless communication network supporting a multi-cell transmission environment. In some examples, a scheduled entity (e.g., a UE) in a connected mode with a primary serving cell (PCell) may synchronize with the SCell to activate the SCell for multi-cell communication with the PCell and the SCell. To enable synchronization with the SCell, the PCell may trigger communication and processing of one or more reference signals between the scheduled entity and the SCell.

Abstract: Aspects provide for autonomous adjustment of the uplink and downlink transmission timing in wireless communication networks. A scheduled entity (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or child integrated access backhaul (IAB) node) may observe a change in the downlink reception timing of downlink signals transmitted from a scheduling entity (e.g., a base station or parent IAB node). The scheduled entity may then autonomously adjust its uplink transmission timing to compensate for the change in downlink reception timing. In addition, the scheduled entity may further maintain the same downlink transmission timing irrespective of the change in downlink reception timing.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a base station determines a spatial relationship for a group of PUCCH resources, and transmits a control message that indicates the spatial relationship to a UE. The UE receives the control message and stores an indication of the spatial relationship. In some designs, the control message conveying the spatial relationship identifies the group of PUCCH resources via the PUCCH group index, while in other designs a different identification mechanism may be used. In another embodiment, a base station determines an association between a group of PUCCH resources and a PUCCH group index, and transmits a control message that indicates the association to a UE. The UE receives the control message and stores an indication of the association.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are regarding configuring an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node of an IAB network to handle forwarding of packets from another device as well as packets originating in the IAB network at the IAB-node. An example method includes retrieving, by a Backhaul Adaptation Protocol (BAP) layer of the IAB-node, a packet from an upper layer or a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer of the IAB-node. The method also includes determining an egress RLC channel of an egress backhaul (BH) link with a second device for transmitting the first packet based on a first configuration in response to retrieving the first packet from the RLC layer or a second configuration in response to retrieving the first packet from the upper layer. The method also includes transmitting the first packet to the second device via the egress RLC channel of the egress BH.

The frequency band of the NR system may overlap the frequency band of the LTE system. The UE may determine first channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the LTE system, and second channel state feedback, associated with the frequency band of the NR system, based at least in part on the first reference signal and the second reference signal, respectively. The UE may report the first channel state feedback or the second channel state feedback in uplink control information (UCI). Other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects relate to a physical cell identifier (PCI) change within a wireless network based on a primary synchronization signal (PSS) waveform. A scheduling entity, such as an integrated-access-backhaul (IAB) node within a radio access network (RAN), may communicate with a set of one or more scheduled entities, such as other IAB nodes and/or user equipment (UEs), utilizing a first PCI. The scheduling entity may then change from the first PCI to a second PCI, where the second PCI corresponds to a different PSS waveform than the first PCI. In some examples, the scheduling entity may change the PCI as a result of a PCI collision and/or PSS collision with a neighboring scheduling entity.

The UE may identify a second set of resources for a sidelink communication between the first UE and a second UE. The UE may identify a scheduling conflict between the first set of resources for the access link communication and the second set of resources for the sidelink communication. The UE may drop at least a portion of the first set of resources for the access link communication or the second set of resources for the sidelink communication based at least in part on the identification of the scheduling conflict and a prioritization rule.
