    Abstract: The present disclosure describes various aspects of the implementation and design of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in 5G new radio (NR) applications. Aspects include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for one or more of multiple PDCCH search spaces, control resource block (CRB), irregular multiple slots or mini-slots grants, or fast control channel signaling for grant-free uplink (UL). For example, different scheduling entities can each have one or two search spaces defined (e.g., common and/or user equipment (UE)-centric search spaces). Also, CRBs can be used as units for PDCCH transmission instead of resource element groups/control channel elements (REGs/CCEs). In addition, irregularities in time domain, frequency domain, or both can be introduced in the granting of resource blocks (RBs) over multiple slots or mini-slots. Moreover, signaling can be used to indicate to a UE configured for grant-free UL the portion of the pool of resources available for grant-free UL.

    Abstract: Both precoded sounding reference signals (SRS) and unprecoded SRS are transmitted from a UE to an eNB. The UE may transmit both in the same subframe using either TDM or FDM. Or the UE may transmit each in different subframes from each other. The eNB uses some combination of the precoded SRS and the unprecoded SRS in scheduling resources for the UE. The eNB may also provide instruction to the UE for PUSCH precoding for data transmission. The eNB may signal the UE to use the same precoding as for the precoded SRS. The eNB may instead signal the UE to use different precoding by including the precoding information or delta information between the precoding used for the precoded SRS and the selected precoding for the PUSCH data.

    Abstract: Various aspects relate to determining whether one or more subframes are multicast-broadcast single-frequency network (MBSFN) subframes. A user equipment (UE) can receive, from a base station, a system information broadcast signal that includes an indication of one or more subframes as MBSFN subframes, and a subsequent system information broadcast signal that indicates at least scheduling information for a multicast control channel (MCCH) in at least a portion of the one or more subframes. The UE can determine, based at least in part on the indication or on the subsequent system information broadcast signal, a numerology for a physical multicast channel (PMCH) corresponding to the MCCH in at least the portion of the one or more subframes, and can process at least the portion of the one or more subframes based at least in part on the scheduling information or the numerology for the PMCH.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for flexible scheduling of reference signals and data in an uplink pilot time slot (UpPTS) in a wireless network. A method of wireless communication by a base station (BS) is provided. The method generally includes scheduling a first one or more symbols of a UpPTS for one or more user equipments (UEs) to transmit data and a second one more symbols of the UpPTS for one or more UEs to transmit one or more sounding reference signals (SRSs). The BS receives the data in the first one or more symbols and the one or more SRSs in the second one or more symbols. Based on the scheduling received from the BS, the UE determines the symbols of the UpPTS for transmission of SRSs and data.

    Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications in a system with long term evolution (LTE) integrated with new radio (NR) are provided. A method for wireless communications includes determining a configuration of component carrier(s) (CCs) of a first radio access technology (RAT) and CC(s) of a second RAT. The method also includes identifying one of the CC(s) in the first RAT as an uplink anchor CC based on the configuration. The method further includes identifying a HARQ timing for at least one of the CC(s) of the second RAT based on at least one of a symbol duration, a transmit time interval (TTI) length or a subframe structure of the one of the CC(s) of the first RAT. The method further yet includes sending feedback to a second node in the identified uplink anchor CC for transmissions received in the CC(s) of the second RAT.

    Abstract: Enhanced channel state information (CSI) procedures for full dimension-multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) is discussed in which a number of CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) ports configured for a user equipment (UE) is determined. In response to the CSI-RS ports including both horizontal and vertical ports, the UE may determine a first precoding matrix from a plurality of precoding matrices constructed by a Kronecker product of a horizontal precoding matrix and a vertical precoding matrix. The UE selects a predetermined number of precoding vectors out of the first precoding matrix and generates a wideband precoding matrix, based on the selected predetermined number of precoding vectors. The UE reports one or more CSI reports, wherein the CSI reports includes at least one precoding matrix indicator (PMI) for the first precoding matrix and at least an indication of the selection of the predetermined number of precoding vectors.
