Abstract: In accordance with one or more aspects and corresponding disclosure thereof, various aspects are described in connection with channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback in connection with one or more downlink carriers. An anchor carrier scheme is employed to provide channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback of one or more downlink carriers. An indication is set to identify that a designated uplink carrier is used to convey the CQI feedback. An uplink carrier is selected from a set of uplink carriers as an anchor carrier to convey the CQI feedback. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that may perform dual stage channel interleaving in which code blocks are interleaved at the code block level and at a symbol level. The interleaved code block data may provide time diversity for the code block data, and the interleaved symbol data may provide frequency diversity for the code block data, thus helping to mitigate narrowband and/or bursty interference. The interleaving within the code block and interleaving within the symbols, in some examples, may allow pipelined implementation of decoding of the code blocks at the receiver, for faster processing. In some cases, systematic data and parity data may be interleaved within the code block data to provide a uniform distribution of the systematic data in time within the code block.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a component carrier (CC) that is otherwise configured for downlink communications. Due to a carrier aggregation configuration or UE capability, the UE may need to retune certain components to transmit on the CC. If the SRS transmission, including the retuning time, collides with another transmission (e.g., in uplink or downlink) the UE may drop the SRS, drop the other transmission, or puncture the other transmission to facilitate the SRS transmission. The determination about a collision may depend on the retuning time, channel, or type of control information in the other transmission. In some cases, a UE may drop the other transmission if transmitting the SRS would prevent the UE from transmitting a demodulation reference signal, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) feedback. In some cases, the determination may be based upon a prioritization and may also depend on a subsequent subframe.

Abstract: Design of channel usage beacon signals (CUBS) in cooperative networks is disclosed. After detecting a clear channel assessment (CCA), a transmitter selects a configuration of a CUBS associated with the transmitter based on the CCA opportunity assigned to the network. The configuration of the CUBS associated with the transmitter may include a set of frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmissions. The transmitter transmits the CUBS according to transmission characteristics based on the CCA opportunity. In additional aspects, randomization may be introduced into the frequency subcarrier allocations of CUBS configurations where the transmitter receives assignment of virtual frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmissions and maps the virtual subcarrier to physical frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmission. Additional aspects allow for pattern offset values to be determined independently from the transmitter cell identifier. In such aspects, the assigned pattern offsets may be cell identifier-independent, while others may be cell identifier-dependent.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one method, a control format indicator value for a frame may be received over a physical carrier in a shared spectrum. Based on the control format indicator value, a number of subframes of the frame to be used by a base station for downlink transmissions over the physical carrier may be determined. The control format indicator value may indicate an end of transmission, if data is to be transmitted during the frame, a number of subframes to be used for transmission, or whether the current subframe is the final subframe used for transmission. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may use the control format indicator value to determine a sleep schedule. Further, ACK/NACK transmissions by a UE may be scheduled based on the control format indicator value.
