Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to efficient data scheduling in systems having a supplemental uplink carrier (SUL) configured. In some aspects, a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives signaling configuring the UE for uplink control channel transmission on a primary uplink carrier (PUL) or a SUL. The SUL is an uplink carrier not paired to a downlink carrier. The UE monitors in at least one search space for downlink control information (DCI) scheduling the UE for uplink data transmission to a cell on the PUL or the SUL. The UE sends one or more uplink data transmissions to the cell on the primary uplink carrier or the supplemental uplink carrier based on the DCI.

Abstract: Aspects and techniques relate to scheduling resources for uplink transmissions in wireless communication systems. In some examples, an allocation of resources for uplink may be based on a common reference resource (e.g., a reference physical resource block, PRB) also used for allocation of resources for downlink In other examples, allocation of resources for uplink may be based on a different reference resource. A scheduler may further provide an indication whether the same, common reference resource is used, or a different reference resource. A scheduler may further indicate a different reference resource as needed. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive scheduling information for a transmission associated with a particular radio access technology (RAT) of a 4G RAT or a 5G RAT, wherein the scheduling information identifies a particular resource of one of a first set of resources for the 4G RAT or a second set of resources for the 5G RAT, wherein one or more resources of the first set of resources are guaranteed for the 4G RAT based at least in part on a reference 4G time division duplexing (TDD) configuration, and wherein the one or more resources of the first set of resources and the second set of resources do not overlap in a time domain; and transmit or receive the transmission using the particular resource. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclose provide various methods and apparatuses for communicating, controlling, and configuring component carrier and bandwidth part (BWP). A scheduling entity receives a capability report from a user equipment (UE). The capability report indicates a capability of the UE to utilize at least one of carrier aggregation (CA) or one or more bandwidth parts. The scheduling entity transmits a command to the UE to reconfigure at least one of a CA configuration or a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration. The scheduling entity determines an anticipated response timing of an acknowledgment (ACK) of the command based on the capability report received from the UE. The scheduling entity receives the ACK according to the anticipated response timing.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink grant that does not include a downlink assignment index (DAI); determine a pre-defined bundle window, associated with ACK/NACK multiplexing or bundling, based at least in part on receiving the downlink grant that does not include the DAI; and transmit ACK/NACK feedback to acknowledge or negatively acknowledge one or more downlink communications received in the pre-defined bundle window. In some aspects, a UE may receive a downlink grant that does not include a DAI; determine a bundle window, associated with ACK/NACK multiplexing or bundling, based at least in part on receiving the downlink grant that does not include the DAI, wherein the bundle window is not pre-defined; and transmit ACK/NACK feedback to acknowledge or negatively acknowledge one or more downlink communications received in the bundle window. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a bandwidth-dependent maximum number of control symbols. As described herein, a BS may determine a channel bandwidth for communicating with a UE, determine a maximum number of downlink control symbols based, at least in part, on the determined channel bandwidth, and transmit up to the maximum number of downlink control symbols to the UE. According to aspects, a DMRS may be transmitted after the maximum number of downlink control symbols. For example, the DMRS may be transmitted in a symbol immediately following the downlink control symbols.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to efficient transmission of acknowledgment (ACK) and negative ACK (NACK) information in a wireless communication system. For example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, on an uplink communication channel, one or more data packets to a network entity. The UE may further receive, on a downlink communication channel, a clustered ACK/NACK indication from the network entity in response to transmitting the one or more data packets on the uplink communication channel. Additionally, for instance, a network entity may receive, on an uplink communication channel, one or more data packets from a user equipment. The network entity may also transmit, on a downlink communication channel, a clustered ACK/NACK indication from the network entity in response to receiving the one or more data packets on the uplink communication channel.
