Abstract:
Various features pertain to mitigating interference on downlink/uplink channels caused by bursty traffic transmissions. A transmitting node encodes data into transport blocks, each including code blocks in which the data is encoded. The transport blocks are then wirelessly transmitted over a channel specific to a receiving node, where the code blocks of the transport blocks are transmitted without redundant parity code blocks or with a desired amount of redundant parity code blocks. The transmitting node then receives an indication from the receiving node of a number of failed data code blocks. The transmitting node generates an error correction code sufficient to recover all of the failed code blocks and transmits the error correction code within a new transport block along with new data. The receiving node receives the new transport block including the error correction code and then recovers the failed code blocks from the error correction code via erasure decoding, a combination of erasure decoding and error decoding, and/or other suitable techniques at the code block level.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for communicating packets having a plurality of formats are described herein. In some aspects, a signal (SIG) field in the preamble of a packet may indicate whether an extension field, such as an extension SIG field or SIG-B field, is included in the packet. In another aspect, one or more detectors may be used to auto-detect packets formatted as one of at least two different formats based on a short training field (STF) of a received packet. In some aspects, along training field (LTF) in the preamble of a packet may indicate whether the payload is repetition coded.
Abstract:
A first wireless device may receive a ranging proxy indicator from a candidate ranging proxy and identify a first ranging indicator based at least in part on the ranging proxy indicator. The first ranging indicator may indicate a proximity of the first wireless device to the candidate ranging proxy. The first wireless device may receive a second ranging indicator indicating a proximity of a second wireless device to the candidate ranging proxy. The first wireless device may identify that the first wireless device and the second wireless device are within a proximity threshold based at least in part on the first ranging indicator and the second ranging indicator.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for communicating in a wireless communication system are described. Various processes for reducing the initial link set up time are described. In one aspect, a method in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting a message advertising wireless communication from an access point. The method further includes receiving a plurality of access requests from a plurality of devices. The method further includes determining demand for wireless communication based on the plurality of access requests. The method further includes modifying a broadcast of the message advertising the wireless communication based on the determined demand.
Abstract:
A device may join an existing mesh network by authenticating with only one of a plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. Once the device has successfully authenticated with the only one member device, the device may receive a common group key. The device may send a route request message encrypted with the common key to one or more of the plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. In response, the device may receive one or more route reply messages encrypted with the common key from one or more of the plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. The device may determine an optimal route to one or more provider member devices of the existing mesh network based on the received route reply messages.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a traffic advertisement at a particular device. The traffic advertisement indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device to multiple devices. The method also includes sending, from the particular device, the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The method further includes receiving an unavailable message from a first device of the multiple devices during a data transmission window that is subsequent to the paging window. The method also includes, in response to receiving the unavailable message from the first device, refraining from sending first data from the particular device to the first device during the data transmission window.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a control message at a particular device. The control message indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device. The data includes first data corresponding to a first access category. The method also includes, subsequent to determining that transmission of the control message is to be delayed, determining a first delay based on the first access category. The method further includes sending the control message from the particular device upon expiration of a delay period. The delay period is based on the first delay.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication are provided. In an embodiment, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, at an access point, a probe request from a wireless device, transmitting a probe response including shared access point state information, receiving an association request including an indication that the wireless device has stored the shared access point state information, and transmitting an association response conditionally including the shared access point state information based on the indication in the association request.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication are described herein. In some aspects, a method of wireless communication includes transmitting a first message for establishing a reservation of the communication medium utilizing a first combination of transmission characteristics such that the first message is readable by a plurality of wireless devices. The method may further include subsequently transmitting a plurality of messages for clearing the reservation of the communication medium, each of the plurality of messages utilizing a different combination of transmission characteristics than the first combination such that each of the plurality of messages is readable by a different subset of the plurality of wireless devices, thereby sequentially clearing access to at least one communication channel of the communication medium for each different subset of the plurality of wireless devices.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for authenticating in a network. A mobile device may establish a group account with an authentication server associated with the group. Upon successfully completing group account establishment, the mobile device receives a group authentication token that includes information associated with the authentication server, the group, the mobile device, a group key, versioning information, etc. The mobile device may use the group authentication token to authenticate with another mobile device that is a member of the same group. The versioning information may support backwards-compatibility between the group authentication tokens having different versions.
