Systems and methods for allowing group access to the wireless medium of a wireless network are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes performing a backoff procedure for each of one or more certain classes. The method may further include receiving an indication that the backoff procedure for at least one of the one or more certain classes is complete. In some aspects, once the backoff procedure for a class is completed, performing one or more transmissions which are transmittable simultaneously with other transmissions in the class. Finally, the method may update the backoff procedures for the class based on the one or more transmissions. In some aspects, the backoff procedures may be updated based on certain fairness conditions.

The present application relates generally to wireless communications, and more specifically to systems, methods, and devices for deferral based on transmission opportunity (TXOP) information. One aspect of the present disclosure provides An apparatus configured to wirelessly communicate. The apparatus includes a processing system configured to obtain a deferral-related parameter from a packet transmitted on a shared wireless access medium and decide whether to defer transmission on the shared wireless access medium based, at least in part, on the at least one deferral-related parameter.

Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, method for wireless communication includes receiving an assignment of a frequency bandwidth for an uplink transmission of a station. The method further includes determining whether a portion of the assigned frequency bandwidth is unavailable for the uplink transmission. The method further includes selectively transmitting the uplink transmission based on whether the portion of the assigned frequency bandwidth is unavailable.

Systems, methods, and devices for reducing collisions in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a processor is configured to decrementing a value of a counter if a channel of a wireless communications network is idle for at least an extended slot time. The processor may be further configured to generate a polling request and allow the transmission of the polling request to an access point over the wireless communications network when the value of the counter reaches a threshold value.

In a wireless network having a plurality of devices configured to communicate using a beamforming technique, a method includes sending a trigger packet from a first device of the wireless network to a plurality of second devices of the wireless network. The trigger packet includes trigger data configured to cause the plurality of second devices to perform channel measurement based on the trigger data. The method also includes receiving feedback information from each of the plurality of second devices in response to the trigger packet.

A method includes generating a data packet at a source device for transmission via an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.11 wireless network. The data packet includes multiple data symbols that are duplicated in the data packet. At least a portion of a preamble of the data packet is not duplicated in the data packet. The portion of the preamble indicates that the packet is a low rate mode packet. The method also includes transmitting the data packet from the source device to a destination device via the wireless network.

In some aspects, a method of communicating in a wireless network includes a compressed block acknowledgment frame including a bitmap, the bitmap indicating receipt of a plurality of fragments of a single data unit.
