Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, to improve the performance of device-to-device based relay communication, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for performing rate control based on feedback from participating UEs are provided. The apparatus may be a first UE. The first UE may receive a signal from a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may determine a feedback based on the received signal. The first UE may transmit the feedback to adjust transmission of the signal at the second UE. In another aspect of the disclosure, a first UE may transmit a signal to a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may receive a feedback of the signal. The first UE may adjust transmission of the signal based on the feedback.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for scheduling traffic between a transmitting device and a receiving device. A transmitting device negotiates with a receiving device to reserve a plurality of slots for communicating data with the receiving device. The transmitting device then sends, at a beginning of one slot of the reserved plurality of slots, a request-to-send (RTS) message indicating a number of slots of the reserved plurality of slots the transmitting device intends to use for transmitting the data. The transmitting device receives, from the receiving device, a clear-to-send (CTS) message in each slot of the number of slots based on the RTS message and transmits the data to the receiving device in each slot of the number of slots upon receiving the CTS message in each slot. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to transmitting, to at least one base station, at least one indication of a capability to simultaneously transmit using two different radio access technology (RAT) sidelinks over respective frequency bands. An indication of resources, corresponding to a first RAT sidelink of the two different RAT sidelinks, to exclude in assigning first resources, corresponding to a first RAT sidelink of the two different RAT sidelinks, can also be transmitted to the at least one base station or a second base station. One or more resource grants assigning at least one of the first resources for transmitting using the first RAT sidelink of the two different RAT sidelinks or second resources for transmitting using the second RAT sidelink of the two different RAT sidelinks can be received from the at least one base station or the second base station.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a client wireless device may transmit a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource to a recipient such as a host wireless device. The client wireless device may later transmit a second RACH message to the recipient on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource. The second time domain resource may be defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource. The recipient may transmit a third RACH message establishing a communication session between the host wireless device and the client wireless device. The second RACH message may include one or more of: an identifier of the wireless device; an identifier of the recipient of the second RACH message; a resource configuration for subsequent RACH messages; or timing information.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes determining, by a user equipment (UE), a channel busy ratio (CBR) window for a CBR measurement for one or more resources; determining, by the UE, a CBR measurement value for the CBR window and for the one or more resources; determining, by the UE, a channel occupancy ratio (CR) window based on a first number of subframes used for a history of past transmissions and based on a second number of subframes used for future planned transmissions and corresponding retransmissions; and determining, by the UE, a CR value for the CR window based on subchannels used for the one or more resources for the first number of subframes and based on subchannels estimated for the one or more resources for the second number of subframes. In another aspect, a method includes determining a CR window based on a CBR measurement value.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to quality of service mapping, are provided. A first user equipment determines a sidelink radio bearer identifier (SLRB ID) for a quality of service (QoS) flow from a plurality of rules. The rules identify different characteristics of the QoS flow. The SLRB ID is inserted into a header of a packet in the QoS flow. The QoS flow is mapped to a radio bearer that is mapped to an L2 link with other radio bearers that are mapped to other QoS flows. The L2 link transmits the radio bearers to a second UE as part of a broadcast, groupcast or unicast sidelink communication. Based on the SLRB ID, the second UE identifies requirements of the QoS flow.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may perform a slot reservation procedure to obtain a TxOP for communicating with a second UE. The slot reservation procedure may be performed in an earliest slot in the TxOP in which the first UE has data to send to the second UE. The apparatus may transmit the data to the second UE using at least one slot in the TxOP when the slot reservation procedure is successful. In certain aspects, all remaining slots in the TxOP may be reserved for the first UE when the slot reservation procedure is successful. The apparatus may refrain from performing a subsequent slot reservation procedure in another slot in the TxOP when the slot reservation procedure is unsuccessful unless an end of transmission signal is received during the TxOP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with one or more other UEs over a sidelink communications link, and may perform radio link monitoring (RLM) of the sidelink. A first UE may transmit, to a second UE, a first message in a first transmission time interval (TTI) via a sidelink communication link. The first UE may monitor the sidelink communications link during a second TTI subsequent to the first TTI for a feedback message from the second UE in response to the first message transmitted by the first UE. The monitoring may be a part of a RLM procedure for the sidelink communications link. The first UE may increment a counter based on or an unsuccessful receipt of the feedback message in the second TTI.
