Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer-program products for performing dynamic bandwidth switching between control signals and data signals of differing bandwidths are disclosed. Frame formats are disclosed in which control signals are transmitted at different bandwidths than data signals. Receiver architectures for receiving the signaling formats are disclosed. A receiver can receive a relatively narrowband control signal while consuming a relatively low power and then dynamically adjust characteristics of various components to receive a data signal at a higher bandwidth while consuming a relatively higher power.
Abstract:
Control information may be identified and provided to a user equipment (UE) that is formatted into a codeword that is transmitted in a first symbol of a downlink transmission to the UE. The control information may include an allocation of downlink or uplink resources for the UE and data processing parameters. The control information may be partitioned into first control information transmitted in a first codeword and second control information that may be formatted into a second codeword. The second control information may be determined based at least in part on the data acknowledgment from the UE. Such partitioned control information may allow a base station to perform some processing related to transmissions for a transmission time interval (TTI) prior to the start of the TTI, and allow the base station to perform some processing for the TTI after the start of the TTI.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive a downlink (DL) reception indication during an active duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The DL reception indication may indicate the presence of a reception opportunity following an inactivity interval, as well as the length of the inactivity interval. The wireless device may refrain from DL monitoring during the inactivity interval. In some cases, the wireless device may enter a sleep mode during the inactivity interval and wake up to receive a subsequent transmission during the reception opportunity. In some examples, the wireless device may use the inactivity interval to communicate using a different radio access technology (RAT).
Abstract:
Various aspects of the disclosure provide for apparatus, methods, and software for implementing a time division duplex (TDD) wireless communication system that can utilize configurable delays to relax data processing timelines when needed. By implementing these configurable delays, very high data rates may be accommodated at the same time as lower data rates for devices that may have reduced or lesser processing capabilities.
Abstract:
Transmission of user equipment (UE) specific control information within a resource allocation including resource blocks allocated for downlink transmissions to the UE is disclosed. Common control information may be provided in a first transmission time interval (TTI)-level control region, and UE-specific control information, specific to a particular UE, may be provided along with data in allocated downlink resources to the UE. A base station may identify a resource block (RB) for transmission of data to a UE along with UE-specific control information to be included in the RB. The control information may include, for example, parameters for use by the receiver in demodulating the RB. The base station may multiplex the control information with the data within the RB and transmit the RB and control information.
Abstract:
When embedding a signal into a selected subcarrier of a multicarrier downlink waveform of regular data/control signaling, a base station modulates the embedded signal with a different modulation scheme than the other data in the downlink waveform. The base station nulls adjacent subcarriers to minimize interference at a low-power wake-up receiver of an IOE device(s). The IOE device wakes up the low-power wake-up receiver at scheduled times to listen for the signal. For synchronization signals, the IOE device corrects a local clock based on a correlation value of the signal to a predetermined sequence. For wake-up signals, the IOE device correlates whatever is detected at the antenna to a predetermined sequence and compares the correlation value to a predetermined threshold. If the threshold is met, the IOE device registers a wake-up signal and wakes the primary transceiver of the device. If not, the receiver goes back to sleep.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A first device, such as a user equipment (UE) may be configured with a peak data rate that corresponds to the radio frequency (RF) capacity of a modem and a sustained data rate that corresponds to the baseband capacity. The first device may receive a set of data blocks during a transmission burst from a second device. The quantity of data blocks in the burst may be based on the peak data rate. The first device may store time domain samples or frequency tones for the data and then power down the RF components for an interval based on how long it will take to process the data. The first device may then process the data at the sustained data rate. After the rest interval, the first device may power up the RF components and receive another burst of data.
Abstract:
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer program product, and an apparatus are provided. The method may be performed by a subordinate entity. The subordinate entity receives a transmission from the scheduling entity in a data portion of the subframe. The subordinate entity processes, in the subframe, at least a part of the transmission. The subordinate entity then determines whether to send an acknowledgment (ACK) signal for the transmission, the ACK signal to be transmitted in an ACK portion of the subframe before a remaining part of the transmission is processed, and sends the ACK signal to the scheduling entity in the ACK portion of the subframe based on the determination. The data portion and the ACK portion are contained in the subframe.

Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and computer software are disclosed for communicating within a wireless communication network including a scheduling entity configured for full duplex communication, and user equipment (UE) configured for half duplex communication. In some examples, one or more UEs may be configured for limited (quasi-) full duplex communication. Some aspects relate to scheduling the UEs, including determining whether co-scheduling of the UEs to share a time-frequency resource is suitable based on one or more factors such as an inter-device path loss.
