摘要： The invention relates to a method for packaging media and data for transmission over a broadband communications network link for display at a terminal destination. Features of the method included creating desired media segments for transmission to the terminal destination and for creating targeting information, for example in whole or in part in the form of metadata, for transmission to the terminal destination. Other features include packaging the created media segments and the created targeting information in a single package and unpacking the single package for display of the targeted media at the terminal destination. In another aspect, the invention can provide a method for unpacking media and data for display at a terminal destination implementing, at the terminal destination, receiving a single package containing media segments and instructions regarding handling of the media segments, quickly unpacking the media segments and the instructions from the single package and, based on the unpacked instructions, assembling one or more of the media segments for display at the terminal destination.

Hierarchical composition is equalized between a low-level side and a high-level side, and corresponding pictures on the low-level side and the high-level side are combined into one set and are sequentially encoded. This allows a reception side to decode the encoded image data of the pictures on the low-level side and the high-level side with a smaller buffer size and a reduced decoding delay.

One aspect includes associating a request for viewership metrics with a presentation of content, publishing the presentation of content, and receiving information of the viewership metrics associated with the presentation. Another aspect includes copying a presentation of a content item, creating a second presentation of the content item for publishing over one or more channels, and linking the presentation of the content item to the second presentation of the content item, such that a change to one propagates to the other of the presentation of the content item or the second presentation of the content item. In yet another aspect, a content rendition may be selected for presentation based on performance of the rendition out of multiple renditions in an auction.

In one example aspect, a system for producing a movie includes a pre-production subsystem configured to receive information about a storyline, cameras, cast, and other assets for the movie from a user. The pre-production subsystem is configured to generate one or more machine-readable scripts corresponding to one or more scenes. The system includes a production subsystem configured to receive the scripts from the pre-production system to determine constraints among the scenes. The production subsystem is further configured to determine actions for the cameras and the cast for obtaining footages according to the storyline. The system includes a device management subsystem configured to control the cameras and the cast based on the determined actions by the production system and a post-production editing system configured to receive the footages from the production subsystem for performing video and audio editing.
