摘要: A variable-speed controller for use with an electric device including: a variable resistor element having a variable resistor element contact surface; a membrane including a first membrane contact surface spaced-apart from the variable resistor element contact surface by a spacer element, and, a second membrane contact surface; a slider configured for slidable movement along the second membrane contact surface wherein responsive to the slider slidably moving along the second membrane contact surface, the first membrane contact surface is able to be urged into contact with the variable resistor element contact surface in a plurality of contact point configurations whereby the effective resistance of the variable resistor element is configured to change in response to the first membrane contact surface being urged into contact with the variable resistor element contact surface in each of the plurality of contact point configurations.

摘要: A system and method of avoiding hunting behavior by a motor around disallowed speed ranges. A sensor or sensorless method determines the motor's actual speed. A memory contains lower and upper speed values that define a disallowed range. A control unit determines whether the motor is operating under a limiting condition and engaged in hunting behavior by determining whether the motor is repeatedly moving between an actual speed that is within the disallowed range and an actual speed that is at or below the lower speed value during a first period, and if so, sets a temporary speed limit for the motor at the lower speed value for a second period. The first period may be the time required for the motor to change its actual speed a few times and thereby confirm hunting behavior. The second period may be sufficiently long that the limiting condition may have changed.

摘要: A vehicle including a cooling fan that is rotatably coupled to an electric motor that is electrically powered by a DC power source via an inverter is described. A method for controlling the cooling fan includes monitoring, via a first controller, a vehicle speed, and selecting a preferred operating state for the electric motor based upon the vehicle speed. The preferred operating state includes one of a first command associated with controlling the cooling fan to force air through the cooling system, a second command associated with a fan brake request, and a third command associated with an energy recovery mode. A discrete message from the first controller is communicated to an inverter controller, wherein the discrete message is based upon the preferred operating state for the electric motor. The inverter controller controls the inverter to control the electric motor in response to the discrete message.

摘要: A circuit may be configured to adjust a correction signal for each phase of an electric motor based on a rotational position of a spindle of the electric motor, generate a distorted waveform based on the correction signal, and drive the electric motor in response to the distorted waveform. In some examples, back electromotive force (BEMF) may be determined in order to adjust a motor drive waveform, which may reduce or eliminate motor vibrations. A motor drive signal may be pre-warped (i.e. distorted) such that when the correctional signal and drive signals are combined, there is a reduction in acoustic emissions or motor vibrations. Other parameters, such as cogging torque, may be measured to reduce motor vibration and acoustic emissions.

摘要: An electronic pulse driver includes a motor, a hammer, an anvil, an end tool mounting unit, a power supply unit, and a control unit. The hammer is rotatable together with the anvil. The end tool mounting unit transmits the rotation of the anvil to an end tool. The power supply unit supplies a drive electric power to the motor. The control unit controls the power supply unit to halt a supply of the drive electric power to the motor when an electric current flowing to the motor increases to a prescribed value. The control unit controls the power supply unit to supply to the motor a prestart electric power lower than the drive electric power before supplying the drive electric power in order to permit the power supply unit to supply the drive electric power after the hammer is in contact with the anvil.
