摘要： A potentiometer, consisting of a general cylindrical shape, on the lateral surface of which it has two parallel projections, so that the lateral terminals are located with respect to said projections, the elements it comprises (slider-holder, slider, resistant track and collector) being located inside the frame. The slider-holder is guided in the frame by setting into a cut whereon there is a projection against which a projection of the slider-holder will butt, which has a new angular projection on which there are two pivots which will set into both holes of the slider for the fixing in-between. The slider is provided with two oval segments in an inclined position which will contact the resistant track. The slider and the collector are fixed to the slider-holder on some cuts provided therein. The slider is provided with two projections for contacting the collector, the latter having a circular crown shape.

摘要： An improved resistive element comprises a film-type resistive layer applied to an insulative substrate and then fired. An array of discrete, spaced apart islands of predominantly conductive material is then applied to the resistive layer in a repetitive pattern having predetermined inter-island spacing. The islands have a conductivity that is substantially greater than the conductivity of the resistive layer. Preferably, the islands are of substantially uniform shape and size. In one preferred embodiment, the islands are formed of a conductive thick film ink that is screen-printed onto a cermet resistive layer through an appropriate mask, and then fired. In another preferred embodiment, the islands are formed of a conductive metal that is applied to the resistive layer by vapor deposition, sputtering, or ion implantation through a suitable mask. Either embodiment of the invention provides a resistive element with lower contact resistance and improved contact resistance stability than prior art film-type resistive elements, while maintaining good linearity, setability, and resolution.

The electric potentiometer has a wiper lever with brush wipers which upon a rotational movement about a pivot shaft stroke electrically conductive layers applied to a carrier plate. An electrically nonconductive layer is applied on the resistor layer such that in the region of the electrically conductive layer that is strokable by the wiper upon its deflection, a pickup zone which is narrower than the wiper and is defined on both sides by the electrically nonconductive layer remains uncovered by the electrically nonconductive layer.

摘要： A worm gear-actuated variable resistance device including a clutch structure, having a worm gear actuated by a worm screw. The worm gear has a toothless sector, and the teeth are engagable by the thread of the screw to rotate the gear to a position in which the screw opposes the toothless sector. The gear is mounted in a housing having a resistive element and a conductive element fixed thereto. The gear has a resilient finger having a stop member thereon which is slidable in a channel in the housing when the gear rotates. The toothless sector and stop member are so arranged relative to the channel in the housing that when the gear rotates in one direction out of contact with the screw, the stop abuts an end surface of the channel which deforms the resilient finger so as to bias the gear in a direction opposite the original turning direction of the gear, thereby to enable the teeth of the gear to reengage with the screw when the screw is rotated in a direction opposite to the direction corresponding to the original rotational direction of the gear to enable rotation of the worm gear to be reversed.

摘要： A throttle position sensor having a potentiometer module which fits into a connector casing for mounting on a carburetor or and air-fuel mixture control system for an internal combustion engine. The position sensor assembly is mounted such that movement of the butterfly valve and thus the throttle, acts to move the wiper element of the potentiometer in a predictable manner. The modules can be tested independently of the casing and rejected without unnecessary waste. Additionally, the same potentiometer module can be used with different connector casings. The potentiometer module includes a one piece casing having an integrally formed cantilever bearing system with two spaced bearing surfaces for rotatably mounting the rotor holding the potentiometer wipers and a "pilot diameter" boss aligned with the axis of rotation of the rotor. Longitudinal movement of the rotor within the casing is limited by position two stop members on either side of an annular ridge extending outwardly from the rotor.

摘要： In a throttle body fuel injection assembly, the rotor of a throttle position sensor is mounted directly on the throttle shaft and the sensor housing is supported on the rotor, thereby providing a compact sensor construction. A spring in the sensor tends to impart relative rotation between the rotor and the housing, biasing the housing toward engagement with the throttle body. With this invention, the housing rotates with the rotor away from engagement with the throttle body if the spring does not impart relative rotation between the housing and the rotor.
