Abstract:
A roller degradation monitor device monitors the diameter of escalator rollers during operation of the escalator. A cam plate is mounted proximate the roller track for sequential contact with the upper circumference of rollers as they travel along the track. The vertical displacement of the cam plate is monitored by a proximity switch or sensor, differences in cam plate practice from an established baseline signifying variations in roller diameter. The output of the proximity switch or sensor provides a continuous measure of wear and decrease in diameter of the rollers. When the wear exceeds a predetermined value an alarm can be actuated.
Abstract:
An accumulation conveyor control system includes a number of accumulation zone conveyors, each equipped with a control module coupled with an electronically controlled clutch. The system includes one motor linked to each accumulation conveyor for driving of the conveyor rollers. The clutch links a drive roller on each conveyor with the motor via a drive member such as a chain. The control module controls operation of the conveyors by sensing the presence or absence of an article in the path of one or more of the article sensors. When the path is blocked signifying the presence of an article, the module sends a signal upstream and receives signals from downstream zones to control roller operation for each zone. The system allows a unitary installment of a number of zones using a single power source and without the need for mechanical devices such as trigger switches or PLCs.
Abstract:
A steady-flow conveyor for transporting objects and or persons is provided which includes a load carrier which, at one or several of its longitudinal sections, that is, at one or several successive points in longitudinal direction, is provided with at least one holding device to which at least one advertising medium is attached.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for load-independently braking the step or pallet belt of an escalator or a moving walkway. According to said method, the activation of at least one safety element triggers at least one frequency converter in such a way as to activate a time-dependent braking ramp, said frequency converter interacting with the drive motor. The braking ramp then slows down the step or pallet belt to 0 m/s with essentially constant deceleration.

Abstract:
A belt conveyor or belt accumulator includes at least two tandem zones, each of which is defined by a motorized roller and at least one idler roller positioned along and between opposite sidewalls of the conveyor and a continuous belt routed around the motorized roller and the idler roller or rollers. The motorized roller is operable to drive the belt around the rollers to move articles along the respective zone. The belt may have a low modulus characteristic and may be initially stretched at least 0.75% in its lengthwise direction when the belt is reeved or routed around the rollers. The motorized roller of each zone may be independently operable, such as in response to an article sensor at each zone, to convey or accumulate articles on the respective zone of the belt conveyor.
Abstract:
A rail position control system is provided that controls a conveyor system configuration to accommodate a plurality of differently sized substrates in an apparatus. The rail position control system includes at least one camera, which is mounted on a mounting surface located in close proximity to the conveyor system. The rail position control system further includes a computer system that is operatively coupled to the camera and to a motor. The motor is further coupled to at least one rail of the conveyor system. The camera is operative to view and provide a plurality of images of a conveyor lane width value to the computer system. The conveyor lane width value represents a space located between at least one pair of rails of the conveyor system. The computer system responds by processing the plurality of images of the conveyor lane width value to generate a rail position adjustment value, which is communicated, via control signals, to the motor to actuate the motor to move the at least one rail a distance representing the rail position adjustment value.
Abstract:
A conveyor belt with advertising is fabricated by coating at least one flexible belting member with a vinyl size coating. A white base coat is applied over the vinyl size coating. A variety of printing processes may be used to print registered color separation images on the belting member. These processes include silkscreen, flexographic and offset printing. The belting members may be made in lengths shorter than the entire length of the conveyor belt with removable attachment means, permitting individual advertising images to be replaced without replacing the entire conveyor belt. Methods for fabricating the belting members including ink formulations, handling and drying steps are also described.
Abstract:
A tortilla stack indexer (10) having an exit conveyor (12) which has a exit conveyor motor (12A) engagably attached thereto. At least two transverse conveyors are in a side-by-side parallel configuration at a perpendicular position to the exit conveyor (12) positioned at a rear distal end adjacent thereto. Each of the at least two transverse conveyors includes a transverse conveyor roller positioned at front end. A stacker conveyor positioned adjacent to the front end of the at least two transverse conveyors having a stacker conveyor roller positioned at rear end. A drive interrupter is engagably positioned between the transverse conveyor roller and the stacker conveyor roller. An electric eye securely mounted under the least two transverse conveyors controls the drive interrupter to prevent collisions of stacks of tortillas on the exit conveyor.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for automatically loading and unloading piece goods of different shapes, consistencies and masses in a permanently installed conveying system. The relevant piece goods are picked up automatically by a remote controlled apparatus, by the piece goods being gripped by friction by the apparatus and moved onto a pick-up platform belonging to the apparatus. Moreover, the piece goods, after being picked up on the pick-up platform, are secured by force and/or shape against slipping off or falling down until they are unloaded, and the loaded goods being put down automatically by the apparatus at the intended location.
Abstract:
A leadframe loader having a magnetic latch of predefined strength connecting a drive arm mechanism and a pusher system is the preferred embodiment of a transport loader. The amount of force applied to a pusher blade is set to a level below that where a leadframe, or other device to be pushed would be damaged by selecting the size and strength of a magnetic latch attached to the drive arm. The magnet is designed to break away from the steel coupling structure on the pusher when the force exceeds a preset value, and stops the movement before damage to the leadframe occurs. Calculated values were verified by physical testing, and a safety margin assigned to insure release of the magnet prior to bending leadframes. The system is assimilated into different pieces of semiconductor assembly equipment.
