Abstract: A wireless mobile training device has a microprocessor, a first switch, a microphone, and a speaker. The microprocessor generates a first control signal to induce the speaker to emit a first audible instruction requesting a training program identifier. The microphone generates a first input signal corresponding to a received audible training program identifier. The microprocessor generates a second control signal to induce the speaker to emit a second audible instruction associated with a predetermined training program name, if the received audible training program identifier corresponds to the predetermined training program identifier. The microprocessor determines a first time interval for completing a first user task associated with the second audible instruction based on second and third input signals from either the first switch or the microphone.

Abstract: Systems and methods for audio monitoring and adaptation are provided. An example method includes monitoring an acoustic signal, representing at least one captured sound, inside at least one ear canal. The captured sound includes an audio for play back inside the ear canal. The acoustic signal can be analyzed to determine perceptual parameters including level of the acoustic signal, duration of the acoustic signal, inter-aural time difference (ITD), inter-aural level difference (ILD), seal quality, and environmental noise estimate. Based on the perceptual parameters, the played back audio is adapted to improve quality thereof. The adaptation includes regulating the volume of the acoustic signal, performing noise-dependent gain control on the acoustic signal, performing inter-aural temporal alignment and spectral equalization, and equalizing an acoustic response inside the ear canal.

Abstract: A headset adapter and a headset system for voice communication comprising a headset and a headset adapter as well as a method of enabling microphone transmission to a host device are provided. The headset comprises at least one earphone having a headset speaker, a headset microphone and a headset transceiver, the headset adapter being configured to interconnect the headset and a host device, the headset adapter comprising an adapter processor, a host interface, such as a host interface interconnecting the adapter processor and the host device, an adapter transceiver configured to establish a wireless communication link with the headset. The adapter furthermore comprises a controller configured to enable and disable the headset microphone. The adapter processor is configured to receive a request for headset microphone activation or microphone deactivation, for example from the host interface, and in response to receiving the request providing a control signal to the controller to enable or disable the headset microphone. The controller may thus activate the transceiver to configure the wireless communication link with the headset.
