    摘要: A wireless reception system includes a reception module, a preliminary estimation module, an equalization module and a selection module. The reception module receives a reference signal and at least one input signal transmitted via a multipath environment. The reference signal is associated with a known signal unaffected by the multipath environment. The preliminary estimation module generates a plurality of candidate channel effects according to the at least one input signal. The equalization module performs equalization on the reference signal according to the candidate channel effects to generate a plurality of equalization results. From the equalization results, the selection module selects an optimal equalization result that is most similar to the known signal, and selects the candidate channel effect corresponding to the optimal equalization result to represent the multipath environment.

    摘要: In some embodiments of the invention, OFDM symbols are transmitted as a plurality of clusters. A cluster includes a plurality of OFDM sub-carriers in frequency, over a plurality of OFDM symbol durations in time. Each cluster includes data as well as pilot information as a reference signal for channel estimation. In some embodiments, a plurality of clusters collectively occupy the available sub-carrier set in the frequency domain that is used for transmission. In some embodiments of the invention data and/or pilots are spread within each cluster using code division multiplexing (CDM). In some embodiments pilots and data are separated by distributing data on a particular number of the plurality of OFDM symbol durations and pilots on a remainder of the OFDM symbol durations. CDM spreading can be performed in time and/or frequency directions.

    摘要: Techniques are provided for a radio link quality monitoring method and apparatus wherein a given user equipment device receives a plurality of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex symbols that comprise a plurality of resource elements distributed in time and frequency, and which include reference symbols. The objective of the radio link quality monitoring is to predict the user equipment detection probability of control messages transmitted by the base station. The radio link quality estimation process calculates two average signal to noise ratio values over the complete frequency bandwidth for two assumed control channel formats corresponding to in-sync and out-of-sync conditions. The results of the calculations are then used to deduce the average error probabilities that are compared with predefined thresholds to provide the in-sync/out-of-sync indications.

The wireless communication apparatus BS1 includes an amount-of-phase-rotation estimating unit 32 that estimates an amount of phase rotation occurring in the frequency domain received signals due to a shift in discrete Fourier transform timing of the received signals; and reverse rotation units 33a and 33b that apply a reverse rotation of an amount of rotation corresponding to the amount of phase rotation estimated by the amount-of-phase-rotation estimating unit 32, to the frequency domain received signals. The MMSE combining processing unit 31 computes an MMSE weight based on the frequency domain received signals to which the reverse rotation has been applied by the reverse rotation units 33a and 33b, and performs MMSE combining.
