Abstract:
A floor plan setting screen is provided with an add room button corresponding to each floor of a building. When the add room button is selected, a room addition screen with a list of room candidates is displayed. When any of the rooms is selected from the room candidates, a room icon for the selected room is added to the floor plan setting screen. As a result of repeating this process, the room icons are disposed in the floor plan setting screen.

Abstract:
A site controller adapted to be used in an automated monitoring system for monitoring and controlling a plurality of remote devices via a host computer connected to a first communication network is provided. The site controller is configured for controlling communication with the host computer and a plurality of communication devices that define a second communication network associated with the plurality of remote devices. Briefly described, in one embodiment, the site controller comprises a transceiver configured to communicate with the plurality of communication devices via the second communication network; a network interface device configured to communicate with the host computer via the first communication network; and logic configured to: manage communication with each of the plurality of communication devices, via a first communication protocol, based on one or more communication paths for each of the plurality of communication devices, each communication path comprising one or more communication devices involved in the communication link between the transceiver and each of the plurality of communication devices; and manage communication with the host computer via a second communication protocol. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
An Optimized Streetlight Operation (OSLO) system that utilizes a cellular network overlay to broadcast control commands issued by a centralized Streetlight Operation Center (SOC) to RF control modules mounted on each streetlight pole. The cellular network may be a CDMA network utilizing Short Message Service-Broadcast (SMS-B) messaging. When a Mobile Telephone Exchange/Mobile Switching Center (MTX/MSC) receives a SOC control command from the SOC, the MTX/MSC causes a plurality of BSs to broadcast the SOC command in the network operating area a defined number of times. Each RF control module that successfully receives the broadcast SOC control command, performs actions to control operation of the module's associated streetlight, and transmits a confirmation message to the module's serving BS indicating the SOC command was received. The modules are configured to stagger transmission of the confirmation messages over a period of time to reduce a peak load imposed on the cellular network.
Abstract:
A Wi-Fi/radio frequency (RF) converting device includes a Wi-Fi transceiver, a multiplexing converting module, and a RF transceiver. The Wi-Fi transceiver receives a Wi-Fi control signal from a control signal generator. The multiplexing converting module receives the Wi-Fi control signal from the Wi-Fi transceiver and converts the Wi-Fi control signal into a RF control signal. The RF transceiver receives the RF control signal from the multiplexing converting module and sends the RF control signal to a plurality of electric elements. An RF extension device may be provided to share the signal transmission between the electric elements and the Wi-Fi/RF converting device
Abstract:
A control device is a control device that manages a network including a plurality of communication devices. The control device includes: a mode transition unit that makes transition to a leave mode for disconnecting a communication device from the network; an initialization-reset transmitting unit that transmits, when a notification is accepted from at least one communication device of the plurality of communication devices during the leave mode, an instruction for setting a flag and a reset order to the communication device from which the notification is accepted, the flag defining to bring the communication device back to an initial state; and a deleting unit that determines whether or not the instruction for setting the flag and the reset order are received and that deletes information about the communication device connected to the network when it is determined that the instruction for setting the flag and the reset order are received.
Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a site controller for use in a communication system. The site controller can be configured to receive original data messages and repeated data messages, identify remote devices in associated with sensor data signals of received data messages and repeated data messages, and provide information related to the sensor data signals to a wide area network for access by a first host computer.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to a system for monitoring a variety of environmental and/or other conditions within a defined remotely located region. Such a system may be configured to monitor utility meters in a defined area. The system is implemented by using a plurality of wireless transmitters, wherein each wireless transmitter is integrated into a sensor adapted to monitor a particular data input. The system also includes a plurality of transceivers that are dispersed throughout the region at defined locations. The system uses a local gateway to translate and transfer information from the transmitters to a dedicated computer on a network. The dedicated computer, collects, compiles, and stores the data for retrieval upon client demand across the network. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
A user-interactive music system is described. The system includes a web application in communication with an electronic device such as a mobile device. The web application receives an input from the electronic device, requesting a specific song or preference of songs be played on a music player at a remote location. The web application communicates with a music player, communicating the requests from the electronic device. The music player plays the requested songs or preference of songs on the music player.
Abstract:
A method includes the steps of selecting an appliance to be controlled from a list of appliances stored in the cellular device, selecting an instruction to be communicated to the selected appliance from a list of instructions stored in the cellular device, and transmitting the instruction to a cellular interface associated with the selected appliance via a public cellular telephone infrastructure by dialing a telephone number stored in the cellular device.
