The shell has a refrigerant inlet through which at least liquid refrigerant flows and a shell refrigerant vapor outlet. The refrigerant distributor includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is connected to the refrigerant inlet to receive refrigerant from the inlet. The first portion has at least one first refrigerant liquid distribution opening and a first refrigerant vapor distribution outlet opening. The second portion is connected to the first portion to receive refrigerant from the first refrigerant liquid distribution opening. The second portion has at least one second refrigerant liquid distribution opening and at least one second refrigerant vapor distribution outlet opening. The heat transferring unit is disposed below the refrigerant distributor to receive liquid refrigerant discharged from the second portion of refrigerant distributor.

    摘要: A combination refrigeration displacement and drain device is disclosed that can be mounted within a heat exchanger, such as a shell and tube heat exchanger, which may be used for example as a heat exchanger in a chiller unit, which may be used in an HVAC or refrigeration system. One example of such components can include heat exchangers, such as for example a condenser employing a gravity drain. Advantageously, the combination refrigeration displacement and drain device herein can provide a refrigerant charge reduction for example that is used in the chiller unit, while facilitating drainage out of the heat exchanger. The combination refrigeration displacement and drain device can alleviate the liquid refrigerant accumulation that may normally be necessary to induce flow in a gravity drain design.

The refrigerant distribution assembly receives a refrigerant that enters the shell and discharges the refrigerant. The refrigerant distribution assembly has at least one outermost lateral end. The heat transferring unit is disposed below the refrigerant distribution assembly so that the refrigerant discharged from the refrigerant distribution assembly is supplied to the heat transferring unit. The heat transferring unit includes a plurality heat transfer tubes. The canopy member includes at least one lateral side portion extending laterally outwardly and downwardly from a position above the refrigerant distribution assembly. The lateral side portion has a free end disposed laterally further from a vertical plane than the refrigerant distribution assembly, and lower than an upper edge of the outermost lateral end of the refrigerant distribution assembly.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for cleaning a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger comprises a plurality of tubes extending between a first header and a second header, and further comprises an insertion unit for introducing a plurality of projectiles thereinto. A first step of the method comprises pumping a fluid into the first header. A second step comprises inserting the plurality of projectiles into the fluid, such that the plurality of projectiles are distributed within the fluid. A third step comprises flowing the fluid and the projectiles through the tubes, such that the projectiles abrades at least one tube. A fourth step comprises discharging the fluid and the projectiles out of the second header. Among the plurality of projectiles, at least one projectile has a different specific gravity, relative to the fluid, from at least one of the remaining projectiles.

The air handling system may include a first turbocharger having a first compressor, a second turbocharger having a second compressor connected in parallel with the first compressor, and a third turbocharger fluidly connected to the first and second turbochargers. The third turbocharger may have a third compressor connected downstream of the first and second compressors. The air handling system may also include a cooling assembly connected to the first, second, and third turbochargers. The air handling system may further include a first passage fluidly connecting the first turbocharger to a first side surface of the cooling assembly, and a second passage fluidly connecting the second turbocharger to a second side surface of the cooling assembly opposite the first side surface. The first and second passages may be configured to direct compressed air into the cooling assembly in generally opposite directions.

A first fluid flows through each heat exchanger tube and a second fluid flows around an exterior of each heat exchanger tube. A turbulator is disposed within at least one of the heat exchanger tubes. The turbulator extends at least a portion of the length of the heat exchanger tube. The turbulator includes a generally flat sheet of material having a plurality of integrally formed turbulence generating elements. The turbulence generating elements extend from a plane of the sheet of material into the first fluid flow. A disturbance is created in the first fluid flow adjacent each turbulence generating element.
