摘要: A denesting device and a method of denesting a block of precut material is provided. The denesting device includes a conveyor having first and second opposite ends and a belt structure traveling therebetween. A belt structure conveys the block of material from the first end of the conveyor over the second end of the conveyor. A denesting structure is positioned adjacent the second end of the conveyor. The denesting structure includes a rotatable shaft extending transverse to the belt structure wherein the rotatable shaft engages a portion of the block of material as the block of material is urged over the second end of the conveyor by the belt structure and denests the block of material into a predetermined number of subparts. The subparts fall onto a conveyor belt where they are transported to a weighing or packaging station.

摘要: An improved method for the manufacture of expanded confections in sealed containers (e.g., cartons or polyethylene bags). The bag has a vent in one wall which is open during an expansion operation. Thereafter the vent may be sealed and the product distributed to the consumer. In one embodiment of the product one or more vent openings in one wall of the bag are sealed by a heat sealing operation, after the contents have been expanded. In another embodiment, a vent opening can be sealed by a tab or strip that can be adhesively applied to seal the same. In another embodiment the opening is closed by expansion of the contents.

摘要: A system for filling a container with relatively long thin tubes that are delivered on a tube conveyor. The system has a generally tubular-shaped insert with an at least partially open top and an open bottom, the insert sized and shaped to fit into the container and defining a width that is slightly larger than the length of the tubes and an insert holder that is adapted to engage the insert to hold the insert in place. There is a lift system that moves the container between an engaged position in which the container is located over the insert and a disengaged position in which the container is free from the insert, and movable clamps adapted to be moved between an engaged position in which they hold the container in position relative to the insert and a disengaged position in which the container can be moved relative to the insert. A pivot system pivots the insert holder about a pivot axis that is generally parallel to the longitudinal axes of the tubes. A flexible drape is adapted to be located at least in part in the insert and overlies tubes as they fill into the insert from the conveyor, to help keep the tubes aligned across the width of the insert.

摘要: A system and method of forming a stack of pads, wherein each of the pads is rotationally askew with respect to its immediate neighbors in the stack. A cutting wheel is provided with cutting forms. The cutting forms are rotated by an offset angle, relative each adjacent cutting form. The cutting wheel is run over material to cut pads. Each of the pads sequentially cut is rotationally offset by the same offset angle as are the cutting forms. As the pads are cut, the pads are sequentially placed into a vertical stack. Each of the pads in the vertical stack is offset from immediately adjacent pads by the offset angle. The pads are formed into shapes that are mostly circular but have recessed areas that create salient points on the pads. The offset angles of each of the pads enables these salient points to be readily grasped.
