摘要: An implantable sensor module and medical device includes a housing having an inner shell having a thickness extending between an inner wall and an outer wall and an outer layer, wherein the inner shell and the outer layer form a substantially flat portion. A shoulder extends adjacent to a diaphragm to extend the outer layer laterally away from a central medial line extending between edges of the diaphragm. A recess portion is formed between the diaphragm and an inner side of the outer layer, and an over-fill channel is formed by the outer layer extending through the outer layer from an opening formed at the outer wall to an opening formed along the inner side of the outer layer extending along the substantially flat portion.

摘要: The present invention provides a swallowable capsule suitable for providing phototherapy to a region of a patient's gastrointestinal (GI) tract, the capsule comprising one or more light sources emitting in the visible and/or NIR ranges and optical elements for shaping the light beam produced by said light sources, such that said light source(s) and said optical elements are capable of delivering an effective therapeutic dose to a target site within the GI tract. The present invention further provides a method for intraluminal phototherapy of the gastrointestinal tract using a swallowable capsule as described hereinabove.

摘要: An implantable device with in vivo functionality, where the functionality of the device is negatively affected by ROS typically associated with inflammation reaction as well as chronic foreign body response as a result of tissue injury, is at least partially surrounded by a protective material, structure, and/or a coating that prevents damage to the device from any inflammation reactions. The protective material, structure, and/or coating is a biocompatible metal, preferably silver, platinum, palladium, gold, manganese, or alloys or oxides thereof that decomposes reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as hydrogen peroxide, and prevents ROS from oxidizing molecules on the surface of or within the device. The protective material, structure, and/or coating thereby prevents ROS from degrading the in vivo functionality of the implantable device.
