Abstract:
An information processing apparatus connected to a network to which plural information processing units are connected, in order to enable variation of the image frame rate in a specified information processing apparatus, thereby displaying a watched image in a smoother manner or decreasing the frame rate of unwatched images to increase the frame rate of another image. The information processing apparatus comprises a configuration for recognizing an instruction for varying the amount of image data released from an arbitrary one among the plural information processing apparatus and controlling the amount of image data released from the arbitrary information processing apparatus according to the recognition.
Abstract:
An image retrieval method and apparatus for searching a plurality of images stored in an image file for a desired image are disclosed. When a designated image for designating an image to be retrieved for is input, and its color is designated, the sizes and colors are compared between description information which stores the feature of each of regions obtained by dividing each of images to be searched stored in the image file, and feature data of the designated image. In this manner, the regions, which are determined to be included in the designated image, of image data are obtained, and the similarities between the obtained regions of image data and the designated image are calculated. Image data having higher similarities are read out from the image file, and are displayed while being sorted in the descending order from the highest similarity.
Abstract:
Wastewater containing a surfactant and an oil content that has been emulsified by the action of the surfactant can be freed of the oil content by a method to including feeding the wastewater into the anode compartment, for electrolysis, of a diaphragm electrolyzer having an anode and a cathode provided in the anode compartment and a cathode compartment, respectively, which are spaced apart by a porous diaphragm and which are supplied with a dc voltage between said anode and cathode, passing part of the electrolyzed wastewater through the diaphragm so that it enters the cathode compartment, discharging the influent from the cathode compartment, discharging the remainder of said electrolyzed wastewater from the anode compartment and introducing the same into the intermediate portion of a gas-liquid separator, withdrawing part of the influent from the top of the gas-liquid separator and introducing the same into a layer packed with an adhering material, where it is brought into contact with the adhering material, directing the effluent to an oil-water separation step for accomplishing the intended oil-water separation, and withdrawing the remainder from the bottom of the gas-liquid separator and returning the same to mix with the feed to the electrolysis step. Preferably, the polarities of the two electrodes are changed alternately at specified time intervals during the step of diaphragm electrolysis such that the anode compartment is switched to the cathode compartment and vice versa.
Abstract:
A window management system makes it possible to collectively control plural application programs by a common user interface, regardless of whether each program is so constructed as to respond to the message from the user interface. The system is provided with an acquisition unit for acquiring display information of the program, a collective operation instruction unit for instructing a collective operation to the program, a transmission unit for transmitting the instructed operation to the program and a display control unit for displaying the status of the instructed operation in a specified display area.
Abstract:
When an object region of data has been assigned through an input unit, an object assigning unit writes the assigned object in a picture surface information region in an assigned object information region. When a cutting command has been input, the assigned region is stored in a nonshared clipboard region or a shared clipboard region according to instruction by the command. A shared clipboard is connected to shared clipboards of other systems via a shared clipboard communication unit. When a position has been assigned and a pasting command has been input, a pasting processing unit takes out data from an assigned clipboard, and connects the data to the assigned position. Thus, an operation of cutting and pasting data between systems is simplified.
Abstract:
An automatic beam current limiting apparatus for limiting beam currents of R, G, and B colors separately without affecting the the CRT drive. In particular, the Average Picture Level (APL) of each of the R, G, and B color video signals at the preceding stage of a video power amplifier is detected and compared with a reference voltage. When the APL of the video signal is higher than the reference voltage, the amplitude of the video signal is controlled to limit the beam current driving the CRT. In addition, the G1 voltage, and G2 voltage may be compared with a reference voltage and a result calculated by the APL calculating circuit. When the result is higher than the reference voltage, the amplitude of the video signal is controlled to limit the beam current driving the CRT.

Abstract:
In order to combine an ARQ system and an FEC system, an error correction code is inserted between an error detection code for a variable-length ARQ frame and a frame boundary flag pattern. Information to be transmitted is divided into blocks having a suitable length by a block divider in accordance with a line quality judged by a line quality judger, and then subjected to a framing operation by an information frame preparer. The information subjected to the framing operation is attached with a CRC code by a CRC code generation/application circuit, subjected by a zero insertion circuit to an insertion of a suitable number of zero bits therein to provide a distinguished frame boundary with a flag, and the transmitted.
Abstract:
In an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) switching system, a memory capacity of an ATM switch control information management table is reduced without any limitation in values of VPI and VCI even when a total number of these VPI and VCI is restricted. In this ATM switching system, a resource management unit 12 announces resource hunt information containing the VPI and the VCI to a call control unit, and further hunts a connection ID (identification) number via a switch control unit from a connection ID management table during a call-originating resource hunting operation. When the call control unit requests the switch control unit 13 to make a connection of an ATM switch at a call-originating side, or a call-terminating side, the call control unit designates this connection ID number together with these VPI and VCI. The switch control unit sets control information containing the VPI and the VCI to an ATM switch control information management table while using this connection ID number as key information, whereby this switch control unit controls the path connection of the ATM switch. As a result, the ATM switch control information management table may require such a memory capacity equal only to a value for allowing the path connections, but not equal to the maximum values of these VPI and VCI.
