摘要: According to one embodiment, a coverage measurement apparatus includes a compiler unit, an execution environment unit, and a coverage calculation unit. The compiler unit produces a first object code from a program to be subjected to coverage measurement, and inserts an instruction to switch to a code rewriting process into the first object code, the code rewriting process being such that when the instruction is executed, the instruction is rewritten into a no-operation instruction. The execution environment unit executes the first object code, thereby producing a second object code. The coverage calculation unit calculates, based on the first and second object codes, the coverage of the program to be subjected to the coverage measurement.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for coding a moving image, capable of obtaining high image quality and high rate of data compression, are provided. The method compares a pixel block of current image to be coded and a pixel block of preceding image within a predetermined region of preceding frame, one after another. The method seeks a specific preceding-image pixel block minimizing matching error. If the matching error relative to the specific preceding-image pixel block exceeds an acceptable value, than the method obtains one or more of orthogonal base systems for approximating AC component vector in the current-image pixel block by inter-frame adaptive orthogonal transformation having, as nest thereof, preceding image data within a predetermined region including the specific preceding-image pixel block. The method thereby codes the moving image data.

摘要: The invention relates to an image coding/decoding method and to a recording medium on which a program for this method has been recorded, and the object thereof is to raise the compression rate of image data while the image data is maintained at a high quality. In FIG. 1(A), image data is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks, a DC image comprising mean values of respective ones of the blocks is generated, a corresponding block mean value is separated from each pixel block and a residual vector is obtained for every block. In a case where the magnitude of the residual vector is equal to or greater than an allowable value, orthogonal bases for approximating the residual vector by an adaptive orthogonal transformation that employs a nest of the DC image is obtained and coded. In FIG. 1(B), in a case where the residual vector is less than the allowable value, pixel data of 4×4 pixels of a local block S is reproduced directly on the decoding side by a direct method of AC component prediction, instead of coding the orthogonal base, based upon five items of DC image data of upper, bottom, left, right blocks U, B, L, R inclusive of a local block S comprising a block mean value of 4×4 pixels.
