    摘要: A method and apparatus for operating a vehicle HVAC system includes detecting an elevated risk of water splash expulsion from an evaporator through a vent outlet and controlling a voltage supplied to at least one blower of the vehicle HVAC system to reduce a risk of water splash expulsion if the elevated risk is detected. Water splash risk is determined in view of a voltage supplied to a subject blower, a vehicle tilt angle, and a condensation risk or value. The condensation risk or value is determined in view of a window open/close value, a temperature value, and a humidity value. Each of these factors are, either independently or in combination, compared with a corresponding threshold value to determine if the water splash risk warrants voltage control.

    摘要: A front and rear integrated vehicle HVAC system includes a front HVAC portion with a front blower and a front vent outlet, and a rear HVAC portion with a rear blower and a rear vent outlet. The system includes a controller that determines a minimum voltage to be supplied to the rear blower to prevent an inverse air flow from being expelled from the rear outlet and/or a rear blower air intake. A voltage supplied to the rear blower is then set as the greater of the minimum rear blower voltage and a current rear blower voltage. The inverse air flow is air flow in the front HVAC portion generated by the front blower and intended for the front vent outlet that seeps into the rear HVAC portion and is expelled from the rear vent outlet and/or the rear blower air intake.

    摘要: An HVAC system for a vehicle includes a housing, a front HVAC unit with a front blower, and rear HVAC unit with a rear blower. The front and rear HVAC units are housed in the housing. The front blower generates an airflow through a front airflow path and the rear blower generates an airflow through a rear airflow path. A separating wall separates the front airflow path from the rear airflow path. The HVAC system further includes an evaporator with a first portion and a second portion. When the rear blower is switched to an OFF position, the rear HVAC unit automatically operates the rear blower at a minimum voltage so as to continue to generate airflow through the second portion of the evaporator.

    摘要: A heater core is inclined at a predetermined angle such that an end thereof on the front side of a vehicle is positioned below the other end thereof. A supply conduit for supplying heated water and a discharge conduit for discharging the heated water having circulated through the heater core are connected to a side surface of the heater core. A baffle plate having a cross-shaped cross-section is disposed inside the heater core and extends along the direction in which the supply and discharge conduits are arranged. Heated water from the supply conduit is supplied into the heater core, flows from the end of the heater core along the upper side of the baffle plate, and thereafter turns round at the other end of the heater core. Then, the heated water flows along the lower side of the baffle plate and is discharged from the discharge conduit.

At this time, a temperature control damper, which adjusts the temperature of air that is blown into the vehicle compartment, causes a flow of warm air having undergone heat exchange in the heater core to be deflected toward a direction where the evaporator is installed. Mixing of the warm air and the cool air can thus be carried out suitably by causing the flow of cool air, which has undergone heat exchange in the evaporator, and the flow of warm air to be oriented in mutually opposite directions.

    摘要: A blower unit for a vehicle HVAC system, which is operable in one of a fresh air mode, a recirculation air mode and a mixture mode, comprises a housing defining an exterior fresh air intake aperture and an interior recirculation air intake aperture. A suction passage is in communication with both the exterior and interior air intake apertures. A first door is operably associated with the exterior air intake aperture for selectively opening and closing the exterior air intake aperture. A second door operably associated with the interior air intake aperture for selectively opening and closing the interior air intake aperture. The first and second doors are movable independent of each other. A partition is located in the suction passage for at least partially dividing the suction passage. The partition is selectively engaged by at least one of the first and second doors depending on the mode of the HVAC system. In the mixture mode, the first door is configured to control ram pressure as vehicle speed increases to maintain a predetermined airflow ratio between fresh air flowing into the housing via the exterior air intake aperture and recirculation air flowing into the housing via the interior air intake aperture.
