    摘要: A heat exchanger includes a shell housing a plurality of tubes and defining an exhaust fluid flow path within a first volume enclosed by the shell. The outer surfaces of the plurality of tubes are in fluid communication with the exhaust fluid flow path. The heat exchanger includes a cap attached to a first end of the shell and defining a second volume. A header is configured to separate the first volume from the second volume, flex with thermal expansion, and define tube inlet and outlet positions. The tube inlets and outlets are in fluid communication with a source fluid flow path, and each tube is substantially U-shaped and defines a flow path of the source fluid within the exhaust fluid flow path. The heat exchanger includes at least one longitudinal flow baffle within the shell configured to reduce an amount of exhaust fluid that may bypass the tubes.

    摘要: A shell-and-tube heat exchanger comprises a shell enclosing a plurality of U-shaped tubes. Each tube is provided with a first portion and with a second portion. The open ends of each tube are connected to a tube-sheet. A pressure chamber is connected to the tube-sheet. The pressure chamber contains a guiding jacket that, at a first end thereof, is sealingly joined to the tube-sheet or the first tube portions and, at a second end thereof that is opposite to the first end, is open. The guiding jacket splits the pressure chamber into a first section and a second section. The first section and the second section are in communication with each other by means of the open end of the guiding jacket. The first section is provided with a liquid level, located below the open end, and therefore with a vapour chamber, located above the liquid level.

    摘要: A heat exchanger in one aspect includes a longitudinal shell and a transverse shell oriented transversely thereto. A J-shaped tube bundle carrying a tube-side fluid extends through the longitudinal and transverse shells from a first tubesheet in the longitudinal shell to a second tubesheet in the transverse shell. The first and second tubesheets are oriented perpendicular to each other. In a related aspect a dual heat exchanger unit includes a first longitudinal shell, a second longitudinal shell, and a common transverse shell extending transversely between and fluidly coupled to the longitudinal shells. The longitudinal shells may be parallel to each other. The shells are fluidly coupled directly together to form a common shell-side space between pairs of inlet and outlet tubesheets. A pair of J-shaped tube bundles is disposed in the dual heat exchanger unit for heating two tube-side fluids.

    摘要: A shell-and-tube heat exchanger has a cylindrical geometry and comprises a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber connected to a common tube-sheet on opposite sides. The tube-sheet is connected to a tube bundle housed in the first pressure chamber and comprising a plurality of U-shaped exchanging tubes. Each U-shaped tube is provided with a first portion and with a second portion. The first pressure chamber contains at least one inner guiding jacket having a cylindrical or pseudo-cylindrical geometry and extending along the major longitudinal axis of the first pressure chamber. The inner guiding jacket surrounds the first portion of each U-shaped tube for at least part of the respective length. The inner guiding jacket is sealingly connected, at a first end thereof, to the tube-sheet. The inner guiding jacket is open at a second end thereof.
