Abstract:
Glyphs, symbols, or non-symbols are selected and become a “search term.” The search term is normalized and then depicted upon a grid for marking. Marked search term areas may be measured from a center point. The marks and measurements can be converted in to a distance map. For reference material loaded into a master database, each distance map may be given a unique code, which may correspond to a Unicode value. An end user may find new material to search, select a new search term and enter the search term into a disclosed system. The target term can be converted into distance maps and then matched with the distance maps of the master database. The pixels or extrapolated geometry of the search term can be used to match system documents that do not have an associated code.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a laundry machine in which a tub is isolated from vibration of a drum, ensuring an increased size of the tub and an increased volume of the tub. This results in an increased capacity of the laundry machine. The increased size of the tub provides a sufficient space between the tub and a cabinet for installation of relevant constituent elements, thus accomplishing a compact interior structure of the laundry machine.
Abstract:
A germanium semiconductor device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The method includes the steps of: forming an isolation layer on a substrate using a shallow trench; forming a silicon-nitride layer on the substrate, and selectively etching the silicon nitride layer to expose source and drain regions; injecting impurities onto a surface of the substrate over the exposed source and drain regions using delta-doping to form a delta-doping layer; selectively growing a silicon germanium layer containing impurities on the delta-doping layer; rapidly annealing the substrate and forming source and drain regions by diffusion of the impurities; depositing an insulating layer on the entire surface of the substrate; etching the insulating layer and forming source and drain contact parts to be in contact with source and drain terminals; depositing metal over the insulating layer having the source and drain contact parts thereon and forming a metal silicide layer; and after forming the silicide layer, forming the source and drain terminals to be in contact with the silicide layer. Accordingly, the source and drain regions having a shallow junction depth may be ensured by forming the source and drain regions through annealing after delta-doping and selectively growing the silicon germanium layer containing high-concentration impurities. Also, the germanium silicide layer is stably formed by the silicon germanium layer grown in the source and drain regions, and thus contact resistance is lowered and driving current of the device is improved.
Abstract:
Image data and/or On-Screen Display (OSD) data is generated for display on a display having rows of pixels by repeatedly combining a portion of the OSD data and a portion of the display data in a display driver chip without storing more than the portion of the display data and/or the portion of the OSD data in the display driver chip at any time. The driver chip memory thereby may be reduced.

Provided is a voice dialogue interface field that is related to a speech act-based voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML) dialogue apparatus for controlling a dialogue flow and a method thereof. The speech act-based VoiceXML dialogue apparatus includes a dialogue manager for performing dialogue management by extracting speech act information from a speaker's speech; and a VoiceXML interpreter for performing a dialogue control by determining response speech act information based on the speech act information and an associated speech act-based VoiceXML document.
Abstract:
Provided is a physical quantity measuring method using a Brillouin optical fiber sensor. An optical fiber is set on a structure and a pair of pulse lights having different pulse widths is selected. The pulse lights are sequentially transmitted through the optical fiber to obtain back scattering lights and Brillouin gain spectra. The Brillouin gain spectra are compared to each other to calculate a normalized spectrum and a Brillouin frequency is acquired based on the normalized spectrum. The Brillouin frequency is multiplied by a conversion factor of a corresponding physical quantity of the structure to obtain the physical quantity. Accordingly, a portion of the optical fiber from which a sensing signal can be acquired is shortened to improve spatial resolution.
