Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) implement a timer (e.g., a round-trip time (RTT) timer) during which it does not monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE may initiate the timer after transmitting a first random access message or a four-step random access message, or transmitting or retransmitting a third random access message of a four-step random access procedure, or after a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for a fourth message of a four-step random access procedure. The UE may initiate the timer after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, or after a PUCCH resource for HARQ feedback for a second message of a two-step random access procedure, or after a fixed offset from the end of a PDSCH of a two-step random access procedure.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication with a waveform configured according to probabilistic constellation shaping in connection with modulation. A wireless transmission device may determine a sequence of amplitude symbols from a sequence of information bits using a distribution matcher (DM) configured for probabilistic amplitude shaping. The device may further apply error correction coding to encode an information block corresponding to at least a portion of the sequence of amplitude symbols. And the device may generate a sequence of output symbols for transmission based on the encoded information block. In various examples, the device may apply interleaving to one or more of the sequence of amplitude symbols, the information block, the encoded information block, or a combination of the sequence of amplitude symbols and the encoded information block, for the generating of the sequence of output symbols. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Wireless communication techniques that include multi-beam techniques for small data transfer (SDT) over preconfigured uplink resources (PURs) are discussed. A UE may receive an indication of at least one PUR allocated for uplink communication when the UE does not have a RRC connection with a base station. The at least one PUR may include one or more distinct PUR occasions. The UE may also receive an indication of one or more distinct SSBs associated with the one or more distinct PUR occasions. Each PUR occasion of the one or more distinct PUR occasions may be associated with only one SSB of the one or more distinct SSBs. The UE may also transmit information to the base station during a PUR occasion associated with an SSB that is associated with a RSRP that is greater than a threshold. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Techniques are described that provide network assisted multi-subscription physical layer sharing at a user equipment (UE) by transmitting a multi-subscription coordination capability to a network, establishing a link for a first subscription with the network based on the multi-subscription coordination capability, and establishing a second subscription with the network using the link based on the multi-subscription coordination capability, the first subscription is associated with the second subscription.
Abstract:
Enhancement of long term evolution (LTE) time division duplex (TDD) carrier aggregation for half duplex user equipments (UEs) is discussed. In one aspect of enhanced TDD carrier aggregation, the UE monitoring for a control signal indicating subframe configuration for each TDD cell of an aggregated set of TDD cells in the same band. The UE may determine the downlink subframes and receive downlink transmissions on such subframes based on the control signal. In another aspect, the UE compares the number of scheduled uplink and downlink subframes between the TDD cells in the same band to determine the downlink error-control messaging timing for each cell.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may identify a bearer (e.g., a default bearer) and request establishment of a second bearer (e.g., a high priority bearer) for use in streaming downlink data from, for example, an application server. The UE may determine a status of a playout buffer and select the first bearer or the second bearer for use in streaming the downlink data associated with the application based on the status of the playout buffer. For example, the first bearer may be used be used by default, and the second bearer may be selected if the amount of data in the playout buffer does not satisfy (e.g., is below) a threshold. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with a transmission control protocol (TCP) port associated with a TCP connection. In some cases, each bearer may be associated with different Internet protocol (IP) address.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for managing secure content transmissions in a content delivery network (CDN). A method for handling content requests at an edge node device of a CDN includes receiving a request to access content of a website from a user equipment (UE) over a wireless network; obtaining, in response to receiving the request, an authentication certificate for the website from a key server by providing an authentication certificate of the edge node device to the key server; and establishing a secure connection with the UE based at least in part on the authentication certificate. A method for wireless communication at a UE includes generating a request to access content of a website; processing the request at a modem, the processing including associating mobile CDN content delivery acceleration information with the request; and transmitting the request and the associated mobile CDN content delivery acceleration information to a network access device.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reducing data congestion in Clos networks is disclosed. A congestion detector is provided at an output port of a first layer of the Clos network. A pause timer is provided at an input port of a second layer of the Clos network. The congestion detector generates a feedback message indicating a data congestion level of the output port, and the pause timer determines a pause duration based on the feedback message. For example, the pause duration may be proportional to the congestion level of the output port of the first layer. A pause signal generator may also be provided at the input port to generate a first pause signal based on the pause duration. The pause signal generator may further output the pause signal to a transmitting device to suspend a transmission of data for the pause duration.
Abstract:
A MSIM UE may perform network operations for each network subscription. However, if the MSIM UE employs subscriptions for the same network, these operations may be performed redundantly. By notifying the network of multiple subscriptions at the UE and associating the multiple subscriptions at the network, the present invention provides power-saving at the UE and reduces network signaling overhead by optimizing communication for MSIM UE. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be configured to indicate to a network that the UE is associated with a plurality of network subscriptions, the plurality of network subscriptions including at least a first network subscription and a second network subscription, transmit location information using the first network subscription to the network, wherein the location information corresponds to a UE location, and receive data associated with the second subscription from the network.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a configuration of a retransmission of a first message of a random access procedure based on a set of transmission configuration options transmitted by a base station. For example, the UE may transmit the first message but may reconfigure the first message for the retransmission based on the transmission configuration options. Additionally, the UE may configure a set of transmission configuration states based on the transmission configuration options for transmitting/retransmitting the first message. In some cases, the UE may determine to switch transmission configuration states based on a trigger signaled by the base station and/or a determination by the UE. Additionally, the UE may transmit an indication of a log of state transitions performed prior to a retransmission of the first message to facilitate combining of the retransmissions at the base station.
