Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection to a base station for wireless communications with a network that supports vehicle based communications. The UE may identify a boundary time for the base station. The boundary time may be associated with a periodic schedule when UEs connected to the base station and participating in the vehicle based communications over the network perform a disconnect procedure and a reattach procedure. The UE may perform the disconnect procedure and the reattach procedure at the boundary time.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, method operations for broadcasting a first signal comprising a first expression code in association with availability of location information of a UE; determining the location information associated with the UE; determining a second expression code associated with the location information; and broadcasting a second signal comprising the second expression code and the location information, independent of the first signal. In another aspect, a method includes the operations of receiving, from a second UE, a first signal comprising a first expression code associated with the second UE; determining a second expression code based on the received first signal; receiving a second signal from the second UE, the second signal comprising the second expression code; and determining a location of the second UE based on the received second signal and the determined second expression code.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a target UE, an initiator UE, or an MME. In one configuration, the apparatus is an initiator UE. The initiator UE determines a network address of a target UE based on a target expression, sends a connection request including information associated with the initiator UE to the target UE at the determined network address, sends information associated with the target UE to an MME serving the initiator UE, and receives, from the MME serving the initiator UE, one or more parameters for communicating with the target UE. Further, the initiator UE communicates with the target UE based on the one or more parameters.
Abstract:
Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes configuring a relay selection rule; receiving at least one discovery message from each of a plurality of proximity services (ProSe) relay candidates providing access to a network; evaluating the received discovery messages with respect to the relay selection rule; selecting a first ProSe relay candidate from the plurality of ProSe relay candidates based at least in part on the evaluating; and connecting to the network via the first ProSe relay candidate. A method for wireless communication at a ProSe relay candidate includes receiving, from a network, a ProSe Relay Indication (PRI); broadcasting at least one discovery message that includes the PRI; and receiving a relay connection request from a UE based at least in part on a compliance of the at least one discovery message with a relay selection rule of the UE.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for access class barring (ACB) operations for device-to-device (D2D proximity service communications. An ACB parameter may be defined and assigned to UEs that is associated with discovery or communication operations for normal and high priority user equipments (UEs). The UE may identify a resource for D2D proximity service communications and, when not barred, send a radio resource control (RRC) connection message requesting the available resource. An establishment cause may be defined and included in the RRC connection request message that corresponds to the ACB parameter.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses and systems are described for conveying location information from an announcing user device to a listening user device engaged in ProSe discovery communications. The announcing user device may use a first expression to broadcast an initial announcement, and then use a second expression to broadcast the location of the announcing user device. The first expression may be in the form of a public expression while the second expression may be in the form of a private expression.
Abstract:
Aspects describe spectrum authorization, access control, and configuration parameters validation. Devices in an ad-hoc or peer-to-peer configuration can utilize a licensed spectrum if the devices are authorized to use the spectrum, which can be determined automatically. Aspects relate to distribution of authorization tickets by an authorization server as a result of validating a device's credentials and services to which the device is entitled. An exchange and verification of authorization tickets can be performed by devices as a condition for enabling a validated wireless link using the spectrum.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in connection with providing location information with expression information announced in a wireless network. In one example, a UE is equipped with applications that can request announcement of an expression. In an aspect, the expression may be associated with expression information to be announced over the air. In an aspect, the request indicates to provide location information with the expression information during announcement. Further, the UE may be equipped to generate Peer-Discovery (PD) data including the expression information and the location information. In an aspect, the location information may be included along with the expression information in a data section of the announced PD data. Still further, the UE may be equipped to announce the PD data.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be an initiator UE, a target UE, an MME of an initiator UE, or an MME of a target UE. In one configuration, the apparatus is a target UE. The target UE broadcasts information for identifying an MME serving the target UE along with a target expression of the target UE, receives, from the MME serving the target UE, parameters and a key for communicating with an initiator UE, and communicates securely with the initiator UE based on the key.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure describe indicating per-packet quality of service (QoS) in communications by a wireless communications device. A packet from an application generated for a first radio access technology (RAT) can be obtained, where the packet includes a first QoS value associated with the first RAT, and/or the first QoS value can be mapped to a second QoS value associated with the second RAT. In another example, the QoS value can be indicated in the packet along with a reflective indicator indicating to use the QoS value in transmitting a response to the packet.
