Abstract:
A plurality of thermal heads for different colors, are disposed in parallel in a line-printing direction, being offset with respect to each other in a transport direction along which an image-forming sheet is moved via a conveyer path. The image forming sheet is a pressure/temperature-sensitive sheet or a temperature-sensitive sheet. The thermal heads are moved in the line-printing direction. Adjacent-opposing ends of adjacent thermal heads are separated in the line-printing direction, and overlap in the transport direction. The thermal heads are controlled so as to simultaneously generate image-pixels on the image-forming sheet. The printing speed is high due to a plurality of colors being simultaneously printed. The thermal heads are used as part of pressure applying unit. The pressure applying unit is provided for selectively applying predetermined pressure to the micro-capsules, when the image-forming sheet is a pressure/temperature-sensitive sheet. The thermal heads can also be applied to a high-speed printing of a mono-chrome image on the temperature-sensitive sheet.
Abstract:
An image scanning device is provided that includes: an imaging lens; a linear image sensor; a rotating scanning system; and a shading correction system that corrects each pixel image signal for shading in accordance with image height and a magnification of the imaging lens. The magnification of the imaging lens changes according to the rotational position of the scanning system. The image scanning device may further include a color filter and a color correction system for correcting the pixel image signals for changes of wavelength transmittance of the color filter in accordance with image height and the magnification of the imaging lens.
Abstract:
Permanent magnets are buried on one side of an impeller, and a rotor having permanent magnets buried opposite thereto is provided to form a passive bearing. On the other side of the impeller, three electromagnet coils and three position sensors are circumferentially provided at equal distances to form an active bearing, the outputs of the three position sensors are operated to produce impeller displacements, which are fed back to drive the coils.
Abstract:
A copolyester for molding a bottle which comprises 95 to 87 mol % of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and 5 to 13 mol % of terephthalic acid as dicarboxylic acid components and a diol component consisting essentially of ethylene glycol, has an acetaldehyde content of 20 ppm or less and an intrinsic viscosity of 0.40 to 0.85 dl/g, and produces acetaldehyde in an amount of 30 ppm or less when the copolyester is kept molten with stirring at 300.degree. C. for 5 minutes.
Abstract:
A thermal printer that forms an image on a sheet. The thermal printer includes a thermal head having a plurality of linearly arranged thermal elements, a device for converting image information into bit-map image data, and a device for storing the bit-map image data. A predetermined portion of the stored bit-map image data is transmitted to the thermal head, and a remaining amount of the stored bit-map image data which has not been transmitted to the thermal head is detected. A time interval between a transmission of the predetermined portion of the stored bit-map image data and a subsequent transmission of the predetermined portion of the stored bit-map image data is set, in response to the detected remaining amount of the stored bit-map image data.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, a developing device is disposed adjacent to a belt-like photosensitive member. A rotary type developing device has a hollow cylindrical casing rotatable around a shaft having a central portion for rotation. The developing device includes a casing which is rotated in a predetermined direction, and four partitions which divide the casing to make four developing units which extend radially outward from the shaft. A toner storing section or hopper is provided on one side of the developing device, i.e., on a front side of the image forming apparatus, and a toner cartridge is detachable from a top of the hopper, and the toner cartridge is exchanged when an end signal of the toner is detected by a sensor in the casing. The toner hopper is filled by new toner from the toner cartridge, and the toner is carried by conveyor members, which control an amount of the toner in the casing, and a supply roller supplies the toner to a developing roller. Therefore, the device supplies a required amount of toner to a toner supply roller and a developing roller at all times. This provides an image forming apparatus with a great freedom of layout which needs a minimum sectional space relative to a photoconductive element and which, therefore, has a miniature configuration. Also, if amounts of transport of first and second conveyor members are adequately selected, a uniform developer distribution in a longitudinal direction without resorting to a complicated control is insured.
Abstract:
A thermal line printer with a page-width print head includes a page-width ink film ribbon that feeds in the same direction as paper inserted in the printer. The thermal line printer may print on ordinary untreated paper, and the ink film ribbon may be stored in a cassette.
Abstract:
A compact thermal line printer includes a guiding portion that releases a thermal line printing head from contact with a platen roller responsive to opening of a cover member. The edges of the cover member are recessed to form paper insert and discharge slots when the cover member is closed. The guiding portion is arranged to hold the cover member open when the cover member opens past a predetermined point.
Abstract:
A joint having an OLDHAM state coupling at a leading edge thereof is held movably in a direction which is parallel to a joint axis at a full-color printer body. A coupling gear is substantially connected to a developing roller disposed in each mono-color developing unit, which makes up a revolving type developing device. At the time of developing by one of the mono-color developing units, the joint is capable of moving in parallel to the axis of the joint in the state of being rotated toward the coupling. A projection is further provided at the leading edge of the coupling, and a claw is further provided at the end of the coupling gear. Thereby, smooth engagement between the coupling gear and the coupling is made by the help of the OLDHAM state coupling, the projection and the claw. As a result, the driving force is transmitted from the joint to the developing roller disposed in the developing unit, so that the developing roller can rotate at a predetermined speed and direction.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, a rotary developing device effects development by revolving a plurality of developing sections around a rotary shaft until any one of them reaches a developing position where it faces an image carrier. Cartridges are respectively mounted to hoppers included in the developing sections. Guides are provided on the inner periphery of each cartridge in order to guide toner, moving due to the revolution or the developing device, toward a toner outlet formed in the cartridge. Even when the amount of toner remaining in the cartridge is small, the entire toner is replenished into the associated hopper and fully consumed.
