Abstract: A system generates a prediction model for makeup color matching. The system includes a data storage device and a modeling engine. The data storage device stores a plurality of color sets comprising a skin color set, a makeup color set, and a target color set. The modeling engine is coupled to the data storage device and configured to generate a prediction model and an output color set. The prediction model models generation of the target color set based on inputs from the skin color set and the makeup color set. The output color set approximates the target color set with a predictable accuracy.

Abstract: For at least one component of a digitized image, if a magnitude of a difference between a pixel component value and a representative image-cell-value is less than a threshold for each pixel of a subset of pixels of an image cell of a digitized image, the corresponding pixel component values of corresponding pixels of a corresponding processed image cell are set to the representative image-cell-value. Otherwise, at least the most significant portion of the corresponding pixel component values of the corresponding pixels of the corresponding processed image cell are set to the value of pixel component values of the digitized image.

Abstract: An image processing portion of an image reading apparatus includes an extraction portion that extracts color information, a management portion that manages management color information that is an estimated value of the color information based on a control signal, a determination portion that determines whether or not the color information matches the management color information, and a writing control portion that causes the storage portion to store the pixel data when it is determined that the color information matches the management color information and that does not cause the storage portion to store the pixel data when it is determined that the color information does not match the management color information. When the color information does not match the management color information, the management portion adjusts the management color information to match the color information.

Abstract: A method comprises forming a halftone screen set comprising first, second and third halftone screens. A first regular halftone screen for the screen set is selected. A second regular halftone screen is determined, using a processor, by performing a regularity invariant transformation on the first regular halftone screen. A third halftone screen is determined based on at least one predetermined condition being satisfied between the first, second and third halftone screens.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a printer configured to print on a print medium, and a reading unit configured to acquire color information of an image printed on the print medium. In printing on both sides being a first side and a second side of the print medium opposite the first side, upon a determination that a predetermined condition is met, the reading unit is configured to acquire the color information of the image printed on the first side of the print medium, after printing on the first side of the print medium is provided and before printing on the second side of the print medium is provided.

Abstract: This application relates to a method and a structure for generating a picture compensation signal, and a restoring system. A center luminance value is obtained by means of an image capturing device; then a grayscale percentage value is set by means of a calculating module, and luminance is adjusted according to the grayscale percentage value; a luminance value is obtained by means of the image capturing device according to the grayscale percentage value; a luminance difference value is obtained by means of a luminance difference detection module; and whether the luminance difference value is less than a default value is determined by a difference determining module; if the luminance difference value is less than the default value, a grayscale percentage value is reduced by the calculating module, and comparison again; and if the luminance difference value exceeds the default value, a sampling grayscale is obtained by a processing module.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and kits for detection of substances in water by forming a complex with an indicator reagent and filtering the complex on a filter or membrane are described. The concentrated indicator on the filter, membrane or other capture device provides a colorimetric readout that can determine the amount of substance present in a water sample. A computer-implemented method for determining the concentration of substances in water based on color data from the colorimetric readout is also described.
