    摘要: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device capable of improving a viewing angle thereof while reducing a gray scale inversion. The liquid crystal display device has a porous film aligned on a liquid crystal display panel and having a plurality of pores. The porous film has sidewalls defined by the pores and reflecting a part of light exited from the liquid crystal display panel. That is, the sidewalls reflect a first group of light, which has relatively higher luminance by passing through a short axis of liquid crystal, towards a second group of light having a relatively lower luminance by passing through a long axis of liquid crystal. Accordingly, the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device is expanded and the gray scale inversion is reduced.

    摘要: A display substrate and a display device including the same are provided. The display substrate includes a first substrate which is divided into a display portion including pixel regions and a non-display portion including a region other than the display portion. Color filters are formed in the pixel regions of the substrate to respective thicknesses. At least one stepped pattern is formed on the non-display portion of the substrate and from the same material as used to form at least one of the color filters. The stepped patterns are formed at an area occupancy density of 20% or more of the non-display portion. A minimum distance is maintained between the stepped patterns and the pixel regions.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) capable of preventing light leakage includes first and second gate lines which extend in a horizontal direction, a data line which is insulated from the first and second gate lines and crosses the first and second gate lines, first and second thin film transistors (TFTs) which are respectively connected to the first and second gate lines and are connected to the data line, and a pixel electrode which extends in zigzag fashion at an inclination to the first and second gate lines and is divided into a first area and a second area in a direction in which the pixel electrode extends. The pixel electrode includes a first sub-pixel electrode which is connected to the first TFT and has the first area and upper and lower portions of the second area, and a second sub-pixel electrode which is connected to the second TFT, has a middle portion of the second area, and has a lateral side adjoining a first portion of the first sub-pixel electrode, an upper side adjoining a lower side of an upper second portion of the first sub-pixel electrode, and a lower side adjoining an upper side of a lower second portion of the first sub-pixel electrode, the first and second areas being connected by a plurality of connection electrodes, and at least one of the connection electrodes overlapping the second gate line.

    摘要: A gate drive circuit includes a shift register, a clock wiring and a start wiring. The shift resister includes a plurality of stages arranged in a first direction on a base substrate to output a plurality of gate signals. The clock wiring is extended along the first direction. The clock wiring is electrically connected to a plurality of clock connecting wirings extended in a second direction crossing the first direction to deliver a clock signal to the stages. The start wiring includes a first wiring extended along the first direction and a second wiring connected to the first wiring and extended in the first direction to cross with the clock connecting wirings so as to deliver a vertical start signal to a first stage. Therefore, a structure of a signal wiring delivering a vertical start signal is changed, thereby protecting the gate drive circuit from static electricity.
