Abstract:
A display system includes a display panel, a solar battery, an electric current measuring module, a memory, and a brightness adjusting module. The solar battery is for converting light energy into electric current. The electric current measuring module is for measuring electric current generated from the solar battery. The memory is for storing a pre-defined associative array of current values and their corresponding brightness values. The brightness adjusting module is for querying the associative array stored in the memory to get the corresponding brightness value, using the measured electric current value as a key, and adjusting the brightness of the display based on the brightness value returned from the associative array.

A magnetic shield is mounted in its own vacuum enclosure in a regenerative type expander comprising a vacuum enclosure, magnetic material in a cold regenerator, and a magnetic shield, where the magnetic shield surrounds the magnetic material.
Abstract:
A DC offset estimation system is disclosed. A DC offset estimation system includes a carrier frequency offset estimator receiving an input signal and estimating a carrier frequency offset value, a symbol timing recovery unit providing a symbol boundary of the input signal, and a DC offset estimator estimating a DC offset value to compensate the input signal based on the input signal, the carrier frequency offset value, and the symbol boundary.
Abstract:
By understanding a website author's intention through an analysis of the function of a website, website content can be adapted for presentation or rendering in a manner that more closely appreciates and respects the function behind the website. A website's function is analyzed so that its content can be adapted to different client environments. A function-based object model (FOM) identifies objects associated with a website, and analyzes those objects in terms of their functions. Desktop oriented websites are adapted for mobile devices based on the FOM and on a mobile control intermediary language.
Abstract:
A structure of fluorescent lamp, which includes a sealed tube, electrode sets, and a passive luminous coating layer or a passive luminous body, is provided. The sealed tube is filled with a glow discharge medium, and electrode sets are assembled on two ends of the sealed tube to be contacted with the glow discharge medium and provide an electrical power to generate the electrical-glow-discharge of the glow discharge medium for emitting a glow-discharge light. The passive luminous coating layer or the passive luminous body is disposed on an outer surface of the sealed tube. The passive luminous coating layer or the passive luminous body absorbs the glow-discharge light to emit a luminous light with corresponding wavelength without being contacted with the glow discharge medium. Thus the interaction between glow discharge medium in the sealed tube and the luminous material is prevented.
Abstract:
A signal transmission cable with adaptive contact pin reference structure includes a first cable having a connecting edge; a second cable having a connecting edge; a component lay-out section having a first lateral edge adjacent to the connecting edge of the first cable, and a second lateral edge; and an overlapping section having an inner lateral edge adjacent to the second lateral edge of said component lay-out section with a folding line formed between them, and an outer lateral edge adjacent to the connecting edge of the second cable with another folding line formed between them. Signal transmission lines included in the component lay-out section and the first cable are correspondingly connected with one another, and signal transmission lines included in the overlapping section are correspondingly connected to those included in the second cable and the component lay-out section.
Abstract:
Because the back-and-forth movement by hand is slower and more strenuous than the leftward-and-rightward swinging, a handheld image-tracking device, which can be applied to an optical mouse or a handheld scanner, uses a rectangle-shaped sensing array to save area of the sensing array and lower down the production cost for the device by reasonably reducing the back-and-forth sensing area for the sensing array; and, so, an amount and time spent for a data comparison in the device is lessened.
Abstract:
A microelectronic tunable capacitor and a method for fabricating the capacitor are described. The capacitor is formed by a micro-actuator, a first fixed capacitor plate and a second swayable capacitor plate suspended over the first plate. The micro-actuator is formed by a pair of fixed electrodes positioned spaced-apart from each other sandwiching without contact a suspended arm electrode swayable between the pair of fixed eletrodes. The second swayable capacitor plate is mounted to the suspended arm and sways by an electrostatic force between the pair of fixed electrodes to suitably adjust a desirable capacitance for the tunable capacitor.
Abstract:
A partially cut multi-planar flexible printed circuit comprises a substrate, a set of signal conducting elements for differential mode and common mode, a power supply and/or ground. The multi-planar flexible printed circuit is formed by partially grouped cutting a flexible printed circuit at a proper position so that the cross-sectional area of the multi-planar flexible printed circuit at the cut portion can fit in with a small round or square splice hole in addition to a flat rectangular slit for connecting, for example, a liquid crystal display with a notebook computer. Moreover, intervals between edges of a substrate and a plurality of transmission lines are preferably greater than three times of thickness of the substrate.
