    Abstract: Techniques for handover into eIMTA enabled cells are disclosed. In an aspect, a target cell reconfigures RRC connection with a UE after completed handover to enable eIMTA and/or CoMP for the UE. In another aspect, a target cell includes eIMTA configuration information in a handover command to a UE. In another aspect, the target cell may estimate a virtual cell identity to generate the eIMTA configuration information and delay scheduling transmissions to the UE by flexible subframes until after handover is complete and the correct eIMTA configuration information confirmed by measurement or else corrected by RRC connection reconfiguration. In other aspects, the target cell may determine the correct virtual cell identity before handover, either by measuring SRS of the UE, or by receiving information in a handover request indicating results of CSI-RS measurement, by the UE, of virtual cells of the target cell.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for coverage enhancement in a wireless communication system. A base station may select different coverage enhancement techniques for different channels, and transmit the channels using the selected coverage enhancement techniques. Examples of coverage enhancement techniques that may be selected include repetition within subframes, repetition across different subframes, power boosting, and spatial multiplexing. These and other techniques may be used alone or in combination. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may determine a coverage enhancement need and may monitor a control channel accordingly.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of non-overlapping periodic intervals for monitoring a synchronization signal, which may be composed of or may include a repeated sequence; and the UE may identify possible timing structure (e.g., subframe, slot, etc.) boundaries using the intervals. The UE may then determine that one of the possible boundaries is a boundary using a second synchronization signal. For instance, the UE may perform a cumulative correlation during each of a series of correlation periods corresponding to the periodic intervals. Each of the cumulative correlations may contain multiple coherent correlations associated with the sequence repetitions. From the cumulative correlations, the UE may identify possible boundaries. The UE may perform a secondary correlation based on a second synchronization signal for each possible boundary in order to determine the system timing.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for determining channel state information (CSI) when received uplink grants occupy a plurality of subframes and include a transmission time interval (TTI) bundle. Based at least in part on a configuration of the received TTI bundle, one or more subframes may be identified as CSI reference subframes to be used for CSI measurement. The CSI reference subframes may correspond to subframes or sub-bands used by the received uplink grant, or may be a predefined number of subframes before a CSI data transmission.
