Abstract: A UE and a base station are disclosed. The UE may receive, from a base station, an indication of a configuration of an SS and a set of candidate DL-RSs associated with a plurality of CG-SDT resources. The base station may monitor for the UL data transmission from the UE corresponding to a CG-SDT occasion of the CG-SDT resources. The UE may measure a RSRP of each of the set of candidate DL-RSs associated with the CG-SDT resources. The UE may select an UL beam based on the measured RSRP of each of the set of candidate DL-RSs associated with the CG-SDT resources. The UE may transmit, to the base station via the selected UL beam, the UL data transmission over a CG-SDT occasion of the plurality of CG-SDT resources. The UE may monitor the SS for a response to the UL data transmission from the base station.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a first configuration and a second configuration, wherein the first configuration is for a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and the second configuration is for a configured grant (CG), wherein the DRX cycle is associated with a set of active time durations and a set of non-active time durations, and wherein the CG is associated with a transmission in one or more non-active time durations of the set of non-active time durations; receive information identifying a mask, wherein the mask indicates a modified configuration for the transmission in the one or more non-active time durations or a modified multiplexing scheme for the CG; and selectively perform or skip the transmission in accordance with the CG and the mask. Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, first component carrier may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and second component carrier may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier or a different MMW carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for first component carrier (on second component carrier), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on second component carrier. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on first component carrier for second component carrier beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on second component carrier may be used to perform the beam recovery for first component carrier.

A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a control message in a first control channel occasion associated with a first quasi-colocation (QCL) property, the control message indicating a transmission of a data message within a threshold time period. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication to skip monitoring of a second control channel occasion within the threshold time period and may receive the data message in accordance with a second QCL property, or drop reception of the data message, based on the indication. Additionally, or alternatively, the base station may transmit a message indicating a unified transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state associated with the second QCL property, and the UE may receive the data message in accordance with the second QCL property based on the unified TCI state.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling that indicates one or more parameters pertaining to reception of paging early indications (PEIs). The UE may receive a PEI from the base station in accordance with the one or more parameters. The UE may determine, based on the PEI, whether the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message from the base station in a subsequent paging occasion (PO). If the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message, the UE may monitor for the multicast paging message in the subsequent PO. Otherwise, the UE may enter a low-power state during the subsequent PO, which may result in greater power savings at the UE. Aspects of the present disclosure may provide for improved multicast paging operations between the UE and the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that relate to a two-step random access procedure. Generally, the described techniques allow different configurations for a first message of a random access procedure depending on a connected-state of the user equipment (UE) performing the random access procedure. A base station may transmit configuration information to the UE and the UE may use the configuration information to determine resources, coding, block size, or other factors for transmitting the first message based on the radio resource control (RRC) connected state of the UE. The UE may then monitor for a random access response from the base station based on the first message from the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support random-access occasion (RO) selection for reduced-capability (RedCap) user equipment (UEs). A RedCap UE operating in a half-duplex mode may use the techniques described herein to efficiently select an RO in which to transmit a random-access preamble based on a duration between a latest received downlink transmission and the RO satisfying a threshold duration. The UE may receive system information mapping a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) to a set of ROs. The UE may then select an RO from the set of ROs in which to transmit the random-access preamble such that the UE has sufficient time to transition from a receive mode to a transmit mode to transmit the random-access preamble.
