Abstract:
The present teaching relates to providing content supply adjustment. A first dataset associated with user interactions directed to one or more content items placed on a target property and a second dataset associated with user interactions directed to the one or more content items places on a reference property are received for evaluation. Further, a cost of placing the one or more content items on the target property is determined based on the first and second datasets.
Abstract:
Images that comprise text are identified and output from the images is generated wherein the output comprises text from the image in textual data format. The portions of an image comprising the text data are initially identified and the text imaged by the pixels of that image portion is extracted in textual data format. The extracted text is stored so that a search for images comprising particular text is enabled.
Abstract:
A modular search object framework provides modular search results including entity search results reflecting the intent of a searcher. Also, an interface (such as a graphical user interface provided by the framework), aids in organizing results (such as links, titles, and description) according to the intent of the user as manifest in the search query and interactions with the interface. Circuitry of the framework also predicts user intent from historical information corresponding to the searcher (or to a group with which the searcher is associated).
Abstract:
A method for estimating model parameters. The method comprises receiving a data set related to a plurality of users and associated content, partitioning the data set into a plurality of sub data sets in accordance with the users so that data associated with each user are not partitioned into more than one sub data set, storing each of the sub data sets in a separate one of a plurality of user data storages, each of said data storages being coupled with a separate one of a plurality of estimators, storing content associated with the plurality of users in a content storage, where the content storage is coupled to the plurality of estimators so that the content in the content storage is shared by the estimators, and estimating, asynchronously by each estimator, one or more parameters associated with a model based on data from one of the sub data sets.
Abstract:
One or more systems and/or methods for adjusting a user interface based upon an orientation of an input object are provided. An input provided by an input object (e.g., a hand of the user) may be received through a display of a device (e.g., a touchscreen display of a smartphone). The input may comprises gesture data corresponding to a gesture performed relative to the display. The input may be evaluated to determine an orientation, such as a hand orientation, of the input object. In an example, curvature associated with the gesture may be evaluated to determine the orientation of the input object. A user interface displayed by the device may be adjusted based upon the orientation of the input object. In an example, a location, a size, an appearance, an output, and/or a functionality of a user interface element displayed within the user interface may be adjusted.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and software related product (e.g., a computer readable memory) are presented for exchanging information between two or more devices when they are in a close proximity using gestures and web technologies. According to an embodiment, the identification of one or more devices using gestures is asynchronous, so that the two or more devices do not have to be shaken together at the same time synchronously, which is one advantage over conventional approaches. Another advantage is that various embodiments described herein do not require a user to download any special software (application), and it can work on all platforms, for example, with HTML5-compliant browsers.
Abstract:
As provided herein, a user of a client device is identified as viewing content (e.g., a movie) and generating user signals related to the content (e.g., a social network post about the movie). An expression of interest may be determined from the user signals (e.g., the user may write “this scene is amazing!” within the social network post). Responsive to the expression of interest exceeding an interest threshold, a timestamp is generated for a portion of the content occurring at a time corresponding to the expression of interest. A segment is extracted from the content based upon the timestamp. Summary content, such as a trailer or a summary video for the movie that depicts relatively interesting segments of the movie, is generated to comprise the segment and/or other segments. Users may view the summary content in order to obtain a brief overview of relatively interesting portions of the movie.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a system, method and architecture for media content enrichment. A visual object detector is trained using a training data set and an existing visual object detector. The newly-adapted visual object detector may be used to detect a visual object belonging to a class of visual object. The existing object detector that is used to train the adapted object detector detects a class of visual objects different from the visual object class detected by the adapted object detector. A media content item depicting a visual object detected using the adapted object detector may be associated with metadata, tag or other information about the detected visual object to enrich the media content item.
