Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that the UE is to execute a make-before-break handover procedure. The UE may transmit, during the make-before-break handover procedure and based at least in part on a prioritization rule, a first uplink communication to a target base station. The prioritization rule may indicate a relative priority for different uplink communications included in a group of uplink communications. The group of uplink communications may include at least the first uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to the target base station and a second uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to a source base station during the make-before-break handover procedure. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses to enable a user equipment (UE) and a base station to improve reception of a random access response (RAR) by the UE in an unlicensed spectrum. A network may define a procedure for calculating a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI) specific to unlicensed spectrum based on an extended RAR window. The calculation procedure may allow UEs transmitting in the window to calculate a unique RA-RNTI and identify a RAR addressed to the UE using the unique RA-RNTI. Additionally, or alternatively, a base station may transmit a RAR including timing information associated with a corresponding random access request. Accordingly, a UE may receive the RAR and compare the timing information with its own random access request in order to determine whether the RAR is addressed to the UE. Additionally, a UE may monitor a secondary cell or a sub-band for the RAR.

A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configuration for a set of random access channel (RACH) procedure types for a bandwidth part of the UE, each RACH procedure type in the set of RACH procedure types being different from at least some if not all the other RACH procedure types in the set of RACH procedure types. The UE may select a RACH procedure type from the set of RACH procedure types for the RACH procedure based at least in part on the indication of the configuration for the set of RACH procedure types and on a trigger to perform a RACH procedure for a network slice. The UE may perform the RACH procedure for the network slice according to the RACH procedure type.

A user equipment (UE) may support carrier aggregation for a sidelink control connection, such as a PC5 or radio resource control (RRC) connection with another UE. The sidelink control connection may support at least two sidelink control carriers, such as an anchor sidelink carrier, a secondary or selected sidelink carrier, a secondary anchor sidelink carrier that may be configured for fallback or duplication, among others. The sidelink control connection may be monitored for radio link failure and a secondary sidelink carrier may be used. Other sidelink carriers may be configured for the sidelink control connection as channel conditions change.

The enhanced feedback may indicate assistance information associated with a quality of service level for the received downlink message. The UE may then transmit the enhanced feedback for the acknowledgment message.
