Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a vulnerable road user (VRU) user equipment (UE) indicates to a user whether a current position accuracy is sufficient or insufficient for approaching vehicles to determine if they present a hazard to the VRU. The position accuracy may be based on an accuracy threshold that is configured at the UE, such as by a serving base station or a road side unit (RSU). The accuracy threshold may be configured via common or dedicated signaling, through application-layer signaling, or may be pre-configured in the UE. When the VRU UE position accuracy exceeds the specified threshold for a particular interval of time, the UE may inform the user that approaching vehicles will be unable to determine their location with enough accuracy to take evasive maneuvers.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first set of reference signals via a primary sidelink carrier of a sidelink carrier aggregation configuration and a second set of reference signals via one or more secondary sidelink carriers of the sidelink carrier aggregation configuration. The UE may receive, based on the reference signals, a measurement message indicating measurements for a set of beams corresponding to a secondary sidelink carrier of the sidelink carrier aggregation configuration based on a beam failure instance for the primary sidelink carrier. The UE may transmit, via Layer 1 signaling or Layer 2 signaling, a control message indicating to switch the primary sidelink carrier to the set of beams based on the measurements for the set of beams and the beam failure instance for the primary sidelink carrier.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may include an energy harvesting circuit configured to convert radio frequency energy associated with signals detected by the device to direct current (DC) energy for storage at the device. The device may additionally include a signal decoding circuit configured to decode the signals detected by the device to identify transmissions from other devices in the wireless communications system. The device may rely on power splitting or time switching to direct radio frequency energy to both the energy harvesting circuit and signal decoding circuit of the device. The device may employ various methods for channel estimation, channel reporting, and communications with another device based on utilizing power splitting or time switching to both perform energy harvesting and signal decoding.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for sidelink groupcast communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam training request to a base station to determine beams for use with other UEs in a sidelink groupcast communications group. The base station may receive the beam training request, identify wireless resources that a group of UEs may use to perform beam training, and may transmit a beam training grant to each UE of the group of UEs. The UE may transmit a number of training beams using the wireless resources provided in the beam training grant, and the other UEs may measure received signals on the wireless resources to identify one or more beams. Each UE may provide a beam training report to the base station. The base station, based on the beam training reports, may determine beams and resources for use in the groupcast sidelink communications.

Abstract: One or more anchor nodes, which may be sidelink devices, may transmit positioning reference signals (PRSs) to a wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE). The UE may select one or more PRSs to process based on respective priorities of the PRSs. At least one anchor node may transmit a priority indication including the respective priorities, or the one or more anchor nodes may transmit the PRSs according to a scrambling sequence or pattern to implicitly indicate the respective priorities. The UE may decode one or more PRSs based on the respective priorities.
