Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein may support authentication schemes for wireless communications. A first wireless device may communicate one or more messages associated with an authentication scheme with a second wireless device. The one or more messages may indicate a capability of one or more of the devices, that the authentication scheme includes a symmetric or an asymmetric authentication scheme, or both. The first wireless device may receive a signal from the second wireless device. The signal may include a set of authentication bits. The first wireless device may determine an authenticity of the signal based on the set of authentication bits, the signal, at least one key associated with the authentication scheme, or a combination thereof. The authenticity may indicate whether the signal was sent from the second wireless device or another wireless device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may receive a first stage wakeup signal (WUS) indicating to monitor for a second stage WUS using a low power radio. For example, the first stage WUS may indicate whether to monitor one or more upcoming monitoring occasions for the second stage WUS using the low power radio. The UE may receive the second stage WUS based on receiving the indication included in the first stage WUS. The second stage WUS may indicate for the UE to activate a main radio to monitor for a control channel to receive data transmitted by the network entity. Based on receiving the second stage WUS, the UE may activate the main radio and receive data from the network entity.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first network node transmits, to a second network node, a first subset of a plurality of portions of a first positioning reference signal (PRS) symbol of a PRS resource during a corresponding first subset of a plurality of portions of a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, wherein a number of the plurality of portions of the PRS symbol and a number of the plurality of portions of the OFDM symbol are equal to a comb size of the PRS resource, and refrains from transmitting, to the second network node, a second subset of the plurality of portions of the PRS symbol during a corresponding second subset of the plurality of portions of the first OFDM symbol.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission transmitted using a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The UE may transmit, to the base station, feedback based at least in part on decoding the first PDSCH transmission, wherein the feedback includes an acknowledgement (ACK) or negative acknowledgement (NACK) and a channel state information (CSI) report that includes at least an indication of a second MCS based at least in part on a target block error rate (BLER) and a target charging rate for energy harvesting. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for relaying communications from a source device to a destination device via one or more relay devices. Scheduled resource grants may be used to provide resources for the relayed communications, and may provide one or more associated relaying parameters for relayed communications. A source device and relay device may use parameters to determine a relaying priority for multiple communications that are to be relayed. Additionally or alternatively, scheduled resource grants may include energy harvesting (EH) parameters for communications that use the scheduled resources. The EH parameters may include, for example, time-switching energy harvesting parameters that configure a first subset of symbols for data and a second subset of symbols for EH, or power-splitting EH where power of a received signal is split between EH components and decoding components.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device, such as a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), or some other relaying device, may receive a first indication of a set of zones (e. g., locations) to which the first wireless device is configured to relay one or more messages. The first device may receive a second indication of a set of beams of the first wireless device associated with a corresponding zone of the set of zones. The set of beams may be configured to serve the corresponding zone. The first wireless device may relay communications to the corresponding zone using at least one beam of the set of beams based on the communications being for the corresponding zone or for a second wireless device located in the corresponding zone.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Energy harvesting (EH)-capable devices may receive power from transmissions by other devices. The network may schedule a user equipment (UE) to provide an energy transfer transmission to an EH-capable device. The UE may be unable to perform the scheduled energy transfer transmission. A UE scheduled to perform an energy transfer transmission to an EH-capable device may transmit an indication to the network, the EH-capable device, or another UE that the UE will skip the scheduled energy transfer transmission. In response, the EH-capable device may not monitor for the scheduled energy transfer transmission, the network may schedule a different resource for an energy transfer transmission by the UE, the network may schedule a different UE to perform an energy transfer transmission to the EH-capable device, and/or another UE which received the indication may perform an energy transfer transmission to the EH-capable device.
