The method includes obtaining hand operation information at least related to a posture of an operator, determining an operation mode of the operator based on the hand operation information, and directing the electronic device to a state corresponding to the operation mode based on an association relationship between the operation mode and a preset operation function of the electronic device.

    Abstract: While many augmented reality systems provide “see-through” transparent or translucent displays upon which to project virtual objects, many virtual reality systems instead employ opaque, enclosed screens. Indeed, eliminating the user's perception of the real-world may be integral to some successful virtual reality experiences. Thus, head mounted displays designed exclusively for virtual reality experiences may not be easily repurposed to capture significant portions of the augmented reality market. Various of the disclosed embodiments facilitate the repurposing of a virtual reality device for augmented reality use. Particularly, by anticipating user head motion, embodiments may facilitate scene renderings better aligned with user expectations than naïve renderings generated within the enclosed field of view. In some embodiments, the system may use procedural mapping methods to generate a virtual model of the environment. The system may then use this model to supplement the anticipatory rendering.

    Abstract: Methods for providing simultaneous access to a hardware data stream to multiple applications are disclosed. The first application to access a hardware device is responsible for providing and publishing an application programming interface (API) that provides access to the hardware device's data stream, which other applications can then call to gain access to the data stream. In some examples, the first application may be a server process or daemon dedicated to managing the hardware device data stream and publishing the API. In some further examples, the first application may instead may carry out user functionality unrelated to managing the hardware device.

    Abstract: An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a register clock driver (RCD) semiconductor chip having first inputs to receive first command and address (CA) signals from a first sub-channel and first outputs to drive first and second instances of the CA information that are decoded from the first CA signals. The RCD semiconductor chip has second inputs to receive second command and address (CA) signals from a second sub-channel. The RCD semiconductor chip has a multiplexer having a first input channel to receive the first CA signals and a second input channel to receive the second CA signals. The RCD semiconductor chip has second outputs to drive third and fourth instances of the first CA information or first and second instances of the second CA information that are decoded from the second CA signals depending on which of the first and second input channels of the multiplexer is selected.

    Abstract: A system may include an electronic device such as a head-mounted device and a handheld input device for controlling the electronic device. A tracking device may be removably coupled to the handheld input device to increase the precision with which the head-mounted device tracks the handheld input device. The tracking device may have larger dimensions than the handheld input device and/or may have an expandable housing that expands and retracts. Visual markers on the tracking device may include infrared light-emitting diodes, geometric surface features, or other optical tracking features. The tracking device may serve as a secondary input device for the head-mounted device when the tracking device is decoupled from the input device. The tracking device may have a recess for receiving a shaft of the input device and may have magnets or other attachment structures for attaching the tracking device to the input device.

    Abstract: Interaction-based ecosystems are presented. Interaction analysis engine analyze media content to derive a set of media features. The engine can then identify one or more interaction objects (e.g., transactions, searches, game play, etc.) based on the set of media features. Relevant interaction objects can then be instantiated as persistent available or active points of interaction readily accessed by a consumer. The consumer need only capture a digital representation of the content via a user device, a smart phone for example. A second set of media features can be derived from the digital representation and the second set of media features can then be used to find the instantiated interactions.
