摘要: Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of pipes such as copper, steel, lead, brass, cast iron piping and composite materials. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6″. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for inhibiting the formation and/or growth of clathrate hydrates in a mixed phase fluid at or near the walls of a tubular through use of a chemical or physical coating on the tubular wall. An exemplary embodiment provides a method for producing a flowable mixed phase fluid having the potential to create clathrate hydrates. The method includes inhibiting hydrate formation in a tubular by injecting an additive into a fluid stream in the tubular, and the additive adheres, at least in part, to the walls of the tubular and inhibits hydrate growth proximate to the wall. When sufficient additive is injected into the tubular system, the hydrate film growth on the tubular walls is inhibited, at least to some extent, and a continuous flow rate is maintained.

摘要: Graphene oxide/polyamide compositions are provided, as are methods for making and using the compositions. The graphene oxide component of the compositions has a C:O ratio of between 3 and 20, and comprises 0.01% to 5.0% by weight of the composition. Typical polyamide components include specialty nylons such as PA-11 and PA-12. The compositions have reduced water absorption and enhanced durability relative to otherwise identical polyamide compositions lacking the graphene oxide component. The compositions are particularly useful, for example, in flexible pipes and tubes used for transporting oil and gas.

摘要: The flexible pipe comprises a plastic sealing sheath and an inner plastic sheath which define an annular space in which structural elements are placed. The structural elements comprising at least one armor ply consisting of metal wires wound helically with a long pitch are in the space. An end fitting is fitted at each end of the flexible pipe. At least one external anode electronically connected to at least one armor ply. The anode is placed in an intermediate region of the flexible pipe distal from the end fittings. A connection means connects the anode to at least one of the metal wires of the said armor ply in the intermediate region.
