摘要: A pavement preservation system comprises two layers of specialized chip seal applications. The first layer is a Polymer Modified Asphalt Rubber chip seal application. This layer is composed of an application of Polymer Modified Asphalt Rubber binder followed by a hot pre-coated ⅜ or ½ inch aggregate placed at 28 to 34 pounds per square yard and rolled into the binder material. The second layer is a Rubberized Asphalt Binder chip seal application. This layer is composed of an application of Rubberized Asphalt Binder followed by a hot pre-coated ⅛ inch aggregate placed at 10 to 14 pounds per square yard and rolled into the binder material.

摘要: The invention provides melt-spun polyolefin/polyarylate alloy fibers having an elevated softening point. These fibers are useful in staple lengths for the reinforcement of synthetic geoways (e.g., roadways, runways), especially those fabricated from asphalt-based pavements. The improved softening point of the fibers allows their incorporation into the hot-mix pavement used to fabricate and repair such surfaces without degradation of the fibers by the elevated temperatures found in plants for these manufacture of hot-mix pavements. This invention also provides an improved process for making melts of such allows.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of an asphalt mix composition, said process comprising: (1) providing an asphalt composition and heating said composition to a temperature in the range of from 110 to 200° C.; (2) providing a granular material and heating said material to a temperature in the range of from 110 to 240° C.; (3) providing one or more thermosetting reactive compounds; (4) adding the one or more thermosetting reactive compounds provided in (3) to the asphalt composition obtained in (1) and homogenizing the mixture for a duration in the range of from 2 to 180 s; (5) adding the mixture obtained in (4) to the granular material obtained in (2) and homogenizing the slurry for a duration in the range of from 5 to 180 s. Further, the present invention relates to an asphalt mix composition obtained or obtainable by said process and its use.

摘要: A paving mixture for application to a surface and a method for the same. The mixture comprises a binding material layer applied to the surface to form a base layer on the surface, and an aggregate material layer applied on top of the binding material layer. The binding material layer can be applied in an amount of at most 0.125 gallons/yd2. The aggregate material layer contains an asphalt mixture that provides a road surface. The aggregate material layer and the binding material layer can be combined on the surface within 30 seconds of application of the binding material layer. Additionally, multiple paving mixtures may be applied to the surface.

摘要: A pavement composition includes a recycled hot mix asphalt (HMA) sheet mix composition including more than 50% and up to 100% recycled fines mixed with a rejuvenating agent. The recycled fines of the HMA sheet mix are separated from a reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) composition and substantially all of the recycled fines are capable of passing through a sieve having an opening size of ⅜ inch (9.5 mm). Pavement systems include an existing pavement layer and a thin-lift overlay made of the recycled HMA sheet mix on the existing pavement layer. Pavement systems also include a three-layer system including a leveling course layer, an interlayer, and a surface course layer in which the leveling course layer and/or the surface course layer include a recycled HMA sheet mix composition.

摘要: Granules of material usable as a road binder or sealing binder, including a core and a coating layer, where: the core is made of a first composition including at least one material chosen from: a bitumen base, pitch, and clear binder, and the coating layer is made of a second composition including: at least one viscosifying compound, at least one first anticaking agent selected from alkali and alkaline-earth metal silicates, and at least one second anti-caking agent distinct from the silicates. Also, a method for producing granules of material that can be used as a road binder or sealing binder, and the use thereof as a road binder, in particular for the production of coated materials. Also, a method for producing coated materials from granules of material that can be used as a road binder or as a sealing binder and a method for transporting and/or storing and/or handling granules.
