    摘要: The cutter blades of the cutter heads of the present machine are supported in such a manner that they may be quickly and accurately adjusted for varying the cutting depth of the cutter blades. The cutter blades are supported in groove-shaped receptacles equally spaced around the cutter head and means is provided for adjustably supporting and positively locking the cutter blades in the desired adjusted position in the groove-shaped receptacles. An adjusting plate is fixed to the cutter blade by mating sawtoothlike grooves to provide a primary adjustment of the cutter blades. The adjustment plate including a guide surface which includes a gradient component extending in at least one adjustment direction of the cutting blade so that secondary adjustments may be made to the position of the cutter blade.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to an adjustable rotary cutting head for use in jointers, planers, and other similar machines with rotary cutting heads. The rotary cutting head is mounted for rotation in a fixed shaft. The cutting head is adjusted vertically by means of an eccentric portion which raises and lowers the shaft as the eccentric member is rotated. The shaft is adjusted laterally by means of a threaded bore and adjustment screw which moves the shaft axially as the adjustment screw is rotated. Means are provided for indexing the relative rotation of the eccentric member.

    摘要: Embodiments of a system for shape sawing wood may include a feed unit and a saw box pivotably coupled to, and suspended from, one end of the feed unit. The saw box may be coupled to the side walls of the feed unit by pivot pins that define a rotational axis. A motor may be mounted to one side of the saw box to drive a saw arbor in rotation. The system may include an actuator that is selectively actuable to pivot the saw box about the rotational axis relative to the feed unit. Another actuator may be provided to move the saw box laterally along the pivot members. The feed unit may be slideably mounted on rails and selectively movable along the rails relative to a feed axis that extends through the saw box and the feed unit.

    摘要: In a milling cutter, particularly a planer face-milling cutter having at least one blade arranged in a groove of the cylindrical milling cutter body, which blade has a spiral shaped cutting edge, both the sides of the groove which runs at an angle greater than zero degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the milling cutter body and the side surfaces of the blade to be secured in the groove are planar parallel surfaces. The edge forming the cutting edge of the blade is bulged over the entire length of the blade to provide a uniform spacing above the outer peripheral surface of the milling cutter body. The spiral shape of the cutting edge of the blade is formed by a corresponding ground surface on the edge zone of the blade forming the cutting edge.

    摘要: A milling fixture with a manual top spindle molder comprises a base plate upon which a drive assembly is adjustably mounted. The drive assembly includes a drive journal for driving a tool shaft. A bearing block is mounted on the drive assembly and includes a U-shaped member which carries a bearing which is aligned with said drive journal to receive the other end of the tool shaft. The base plate, together with the drive assembly and bearing block is pivotable relative to a workpiece guide on which the workpiece is supported. The bearing block includes a pendulum guide having a copying feeler for engaging the workpiece.

    摘要: A cutter head system for a woodworking tool in which one or a plurality of discrete cutter segments may be mounted on a shaft of a selected length to form a cutter head for either a jointer, a planer or a molding cutter. Each segment has a plurality of slot portions spaced about its outer periphery and is adapted to be mounted on a shaft so that the slot portions of ganged segments form continuous slots which are substantially coextensive with the segments. A plurality of blade members are positioned within and are coextensive with the slots, wedge plates are positioned within the slots for releasably securing the blade members against the cutter segments, and mounting screws urge the wedge plates against the blade members. Sets of blade members and wedge plates of varying length are used which correspond in length to the length of the slots formed by the segments. In a preferred embodiment, each cutter head includes screws at the base of the slots which may be adjustably positioned relative to the cutter head to support the blade members at an appropriate height.
