    摘要： The state of the art discloses cold rolling mills comprising a roll stand, at least one roll rotatably mounted to the roll stand, a feed clamping saddle for feeding a blank, and a first drive for the feed clamping saddle. Those cold rolling mills have ball spindle drives with a high rate of wear as the drive for the feed clamping saddle. In comparison the object of the present invention is to provide a cold rolling mill whose drive for the feed clamping saddle involves no or only very slight wear and which in addition permits a slow movement of the feed clamping saddle. According to the invention that object is attained by a cold rolling mill which has a direct electromechanical linear drive for the feed clamping saddle.

    摘要： A method and an arrangement for cutting cold pilgered tubes during rolling on a cold pilger rolling mill with reciprocating rolling stand and with intermittent advance and/or intermittent rotation of the tube in the area of one of the two dead centers of the rolling stand. The method includes imparting on the tube along a distance range thereof behind the rolling zone a constant rotation corresponding to the average speed of rotation of the tube such that the tube is temporarily elastically twisted. The distance range is selected in accordance with parameters determined by the material and dimensions of the tube. The tube is cut within the distance range during the constant rotation. The arrangement for carrying out the method includes a cutting unit with a cutting tool and a clamping sleeve which clamps the tube circumference and is constantly driven for rotation. The cutting unit is arranged at a distance from the rolling stand which facilitates elastic torsion of the tube.

    摘要： A rocker mill includes a rollstand and a carriage for supporting and repositioning a workpiece extending through the rollstand. A first hollow-shafted electric motor is mounted on the carriage and includes a first hollow open-ended rotor and threaded nut through which the stationary feedscrew passes. The threaded nut is connected to the first motor to be rotated thereby in order to move the carriage longitudinally toward the rollstand. A second hollow-shafted electric motor is mounted on the carriage and includes a second hollow open-ended rotor and a clamp through which the workpiece passes. The clamp is actuated into clamping engagement with the workpiece for transmitting rotational and longitudinal movements thereto. Such mechanism for imparting rotary and longitudinal movements to the workpiece is of very low inertia and thus is able to reposition the workpiece with a high degree of precision.

    摘要： Feeding means for feeding stock to the dies of a cold pilger mill and the like, comprising a pair of feed carriages having the usual stock clamps, and means for moving the carriages in opposite directions on the machine bed in line with the dies. The clamps on the carriage moving toward the dies are engaged with the stock to feed the same, while the clamps of the carriage moving away from the stock are disengaged from the latter. Means are provided to move the carriages in increments, including a novel drive coordinated with crank shaft movement to feed the stock within a planned and predetermined crank range and variably adaptable to suit the quality and degree of deformation of the stock.
