Abstract:
The improved image inputting apparatus for reading the image recorded on a transmission original comprises: a light source; an image sensor for photoelectrically reading the light that has issued from the light source and which has been transmitted through the original; an imaging lens for permitting the transmitted light to be focused on the image sensor; a focusing device for automatically adjusting a focus of the imaging lens; and a control device for controlling the focusing device before starting the reading of a new image group such that only the first frame of the image group is subjected to one-step automatic focusing or two-step automatic focusing consisting of coarse and fine adjustments whereas the other frames are not subjected to focusing but image reading is performed adopting the focus state of the first frame or are subjected to automatic focusing comprising only fine adjustment. The apparatus can allow projecting light that bears the image recorded on strips or slides to form a satisfactorily and accurately focused image on an image sensor such as CCD sensor, and also permit rapid and efficient image reading and thereby contribute to an improvement in the efficiency with which output images can be produced.
Abstract:
A compact video slide projector provides video image signals representing a recorded image on a 35 mm slide for display on a TV set or video monitor. Compactness is achieved by arranging an elongated video camera at right angles to the slide projection path of a slide projector/changer mechanism and directing image light from the projection path along a perpendicularly disposed camera input axis.
Abstract:
An imaging system comprises a lid having a light source disposed therein and a media carriage coupled to the lid. The media carriage is adapted to support at least two media objects and is movable relative to the light source to alternately expose the two media objects to the light source for generating scanned images thereof.
Abstract:
An original holder of an image reading apparatus that reads and image of an original based on an amount of an electric charge generated by a photoelectric conversion element due to received light, when the original placed on a placement surface is illuminated by a light source, including an original holder body placed on the placement surface while holding the original so as to position the original on the replacement surface and a filter member with a predetermined transmittance that transmits light from the light source to be received by the photoelectric conversion element.
Abstract:
Systems and methods systems and methods for orienting media for improved scan quality are disclosed. In an exemplary implementation, a method may include receiving a transparency media in a media holder, and guiding the transparency media into the media holder. The method may also include accepting the transparency media in the media holder only if the transparency media is oriented with an emulsion side facing toward an imaging surface. The method may also include self-ejecting the transparency media from the media holder if the transparency media is oriented with the emulsion side facing away from the imaging surface.
Abstract:
A film conversion device that includes a body, a frame, a bottom brace and a bottom cover wherein the frame body is assembled to the upper portion of the bottom brace and then housed within the combination of the body and the bottom cover. A camera lens and image sensor is set above the frame and the combination of the camera lens and digital sensor is utilized to capture the images on the film and covert the images into digital data capable of being stored by a general purpose computing device or memory device.
Abstract:
A kind of device to transfer film image into digital data includes a body, a frame, a bottom brace and a bottom cover wherein the frame body is assembled to the upper portion of the bottom brace and the while the body is housed in the body then the bottom cover is assembled and sealed below. A camera lens is set above the frame. A back light mechanism is set inside the bottom brace. One long groove each is set to two sides of the body and a film plate clamp is inserted from one side. This film plate clamp can fix the film plate inside and position to the top of the back light mechanism. The camera lens is utilized to access the images of the film and transfer the images into digital data to be sent to another computer for storage. The objects of rapid transfer the images on the film into the digital data for easy modification and permanent storage are thus achieved.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus and an original holder of the same that can specify without fail a photoelectric conversion element that may cause a defective image due to the linearity defect is achieved. An image reading apparatus performs a reading operation of an image from an original and includes a light source for illuminating the original, a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements that each generate an electric charge in an amount corresponding to an amount of light received, a read data generating section that generates read data of the image based on an amount of the electric charges generated by the photoelectric conversion elements due to the light received when the original is illuminated by the light source, and a determination section that determines whether or not the photoelectric conversion element is defective based on the amount of the electric charge generated by the photoelectric conversion element when the photoelectric conversion element receives a predetermined amount of light, during a period from power-up to the reading operation.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods of refining the region boundaries for individual negatives or slides when scanning a plurality of negative or slides, including the defining of rows and columns based on the median spacings between regions, and the median spans of the regions, in the vertical and horizontal directions; and aligning the identified negative or slide regions to the defined rows and columns. The negative or slide regions may then be ordered to conform to the ordering represented on the scanning adapter.
