Abstract: A method of improving integrity of a computer system includes executing certifiable and qualifiable software applications. The certifiable software application is composed of static program instructions executed sequentially to process input data to produce an output, and the qualifiable software application uses a model iteratively built using a machine learning algorithm to process the input data to produce a corresponding output. The certifiable software application is certifiable for the computer system according to a certification standard, and the qualifiable software application being non-certifiable for the computer system according to the certification standard. The method also includes cross-checking the output by comparison with the corresponding output to verify the output, and thereby improve integrity of the computer system. And the method includes generating an alert that the output is unverified when the comparison indicates that the output differs from the corresponding output by more than a threshold.

Abstract: A data storage management approach is disclosed that performs backup operations flexibly, based on a dynamic scheme of monitoring block changes occurring in production data. The illustrative system monitors block changes based on certain block-change thresholds and triggers block-level backups of the changed blocks when a threshold is passed. Block changes may be monitored in reference to particular files based on a reverse lookup mechanism. The illustrative system also collects and stores historical information on block changes, which may be used for reporting and predictive analysis.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing physical rewards from disbursed networked dispensers are disclosed. The systems and methods may involve at least one processor configured to: maintain and cause to be displayed a workflow table having rows, columns and cells; track a workflow milestone via a designated cell configured to maintain data indicating that the workflow milestone is reached; access a data structure storing a rule containing a condition associated with the designated cell and a conditional trigger associated with at least one dispenser; receive an input via the designated cell; compare the input with the condition to determine a match; and activate the conditional trigger to cause at least one dispensing signal to be transmitted over a network to the at least one dispenser to cause the at least one dispenser to dispense a physical item as a result of the milestone being reached.

Abstract: Querying resource lifetime using a trace of program execution. An embodiment includes identifying a query expression targeted at least a portion of the trace of program execution. The query expression specifies at least (i) a data object representing a plurality of events identified in the trace, each event associated with one or more attributes relating to resource lifetime, and (ii) one or more conditions matching the one attributes relating to resource lifetime. In response to receiving the query expression, the query expression is processed based at least on an analysis of an identified subset of the trace. Based on processing the query expression, a result data set that includes or identifies at least one of the plurality of events that meets the one or more conditions is presented.

Abstract: A storage system includes a plurality of storage nodes. The storage node includes: one or more storage devices which respectively provide a storage area; and one or more control software which read/write requested data from/into the corresponding storage device according to a request from a higher-level device, wherein each of the control software retains predetermined configuration information required for reading/writing requested data from/into the corresponding storage device according to a request from the higher-level device, wherein a plurality of the control software are managed as a redundancy group, and the configuration information retained in each of the control software belonging to the same redundancy group is synchronously updated, and wherein the plurality of control software configuring the redundancy group are each deployed in respectively different storage nodes so as to distribute a load of each of the storage nodes.

Abstract: A service assigns session identifiers to usage sessions of a program on a computing device, and maintains records in a log of received page requests and associated session identifiers, as well as received cached data detection requests and associated session identifiers. This log can be used to determine how many usage sessions existed over a particular amount of time, and how many of the usage sessions used data from a local cache rather than from the service. The service also returns, in response to a received cached data detection request, a response including an indication that the response is from the service. The program can determine that the response was received from the service if the indication is included in the response, and that the response was received from a local cache of the computing device if the indication is not included in the response.
