    摘要: A seal assembly is mounted to a floor portion of an RV with a slide out room. The slide out room has a wall and a floor that is separated from the floor of the RV. The seal assembly has a wear bar with a ramped surface extending up from a flange at an obtuse angle, terminating in a flat top surface which then terminates in a wall that extends downwardly to another flange. The seal has a flexible wiper that seals to the slide out room floor. The seal assembly includes a splash shield with a resilient end that seals to the wall of the slide out room.

    摘要: A sealing system for a high pressure pump, in which the pump includes a vessel defining a vessel bore and having an end portion, the vessel bore having a first engagement face and defining a central longitudinal axis, and in which the pump further includes a plunger cooperative with the vessel to increase the pressure of a fluid within the bore, includes a seal member at least partially received within the bore and defining a second engagement face. The sealing system further includes a retaining member in operative contact with the seal member to mate the first engagement face with the second engagement face to inhibit fluid leakage from the bore. The first engagement face includes a first contacting surface having a non-linear cross-section. The second engagement face includes a second contacting surface having a non-linear cross-section in contact with the first contacting surface.

A portion of the material may be squeezed out as excess material in response to adhering the seal cap to the fastener element. A number of projections associated with the seal cap may be moved along an interface formed between the seal cap and an object in which the fastener element has been installed. The excess material may be faired using the number of projections as the number of projections is moved along the interface between the seal cap and the object.

    摘要: A method of making a preformed seal includes coupling first and second sections of a mold to define a mold cavity. A cross-sectional shape of the mold cavity corresponds to a cross-sectional shape of the preformed seal. The method also includes providing a reservoir that has a port in flow communication with a reservoir cavity that extends to a parting surface. The method further includes filling the reservoir cavity with wet sealant such that the wet sealant is flush with the parting surface and a bead of wet sealant protrudes from the port. Additionally, the method includes coupling the reservoir to the first and second sections such that the reservoir cavity is in flow communication with the mold cavity at the parting surface, injecting wet sealant from a nozzle through the reservoir into the mold cavity, and curing the wet sealant in the mold cavity to make the preformed seal.

    摘要: A seal assembly located at the intersection of an extension room and wall of a recreation vehicle, the seal assembly having a flap seal, a bulb snap-in member attached to the flap seal, and a bulb seal member attachable to the bulb snap-in member in a snap-fit manner. The bulb seal member may be attached to the bulb snap-in member by a living hinge. The flap seal may be made removable from the bulb snap-in member. Two flap seals may be used to attach to either side of the recreation vehicle wall. The two flap seals may be connectable with each other and adjustable via a longitudinal mating shaft on one flap seal and a longitudinal mating shaft receiving member on the second flap seal. The seal assembly may be manufactured by a multi-extrusion process so that various components can be made of different materials, such as different types of plastic.

Embodiments of the invention allow abutting components of like materials to be compressed against each other without the need of an intermediate gasket or other structure, and reduce relative movement between the abutting parts to increase the useful life of the components. Embodiments of the invention incorporate a first component with a tapered mouth having a curved cross-sectional profile, and a complementary component having a mouth with a linear cross-sectional profile. The profiles contact each other at a tangential contact angle ranging between 40 and 68 degrees with respect to the radial axis of the components.
