    摘要: The present invention provides a disk brake system comprising a wheel defining a rotational axis, a caliper mounted adjacent the wheel, and a rotor mounted for rotation with the wheel and engageable by the caliper. The rotor includes a mounting slot defined by first and second sidewalls, the first sidewall defining a first axis that substantially intersects the rotational axis, and the second sidewall defining a second axis that is substantially parallel to the first axis. Preferably, the mounting slot defines a center axis that intersects a radial axis of the wheel at an angle of at least 1.5 degrees, preferably at least 2.0 degrees and more preferably about 2.5 to 3.9 degrees. Preferably, the mounting slot has a width and a length that is at least 10% larger, preferably at least 15% larger, and more preferably about 20% larger than the width.

    摘要: A traveling drive device for a dump truck is provided with an axle housing mounted to a vehicle body, a wheel mounting tube rotatably provided on the outer periphery side of the axle housing, a disk holding cylinder provided on the axial outside of the wheel mounting tube, a brake disk mounted to the disk holding cylinder, and a brake device for applying braking to the brake disk. The disk holding cylinder is configured by a cylindrical body to be mounted to the wheel mounting tube and a plurality of disk mounting legs provided on the cylindrical body. A plurality of U-shaped projections are provided on the outer periphery side of the brake disk at positions corresponding to the respective disk mounting legs. A recessed groove which fits on the disk mounting leg so as to hold a distal end thereof is provided in each of the U-shaped projections.

    摘要: A composite disc rotor includes a disc main body, a coupling bracket and coupling units. Each of the coupling units includes a bobbin, a clip and a coupling bolt. A head part of the bobbin includes a torque receiving portion inserted in the notch and a projection projected in a circumferential direction from an end of the torque receiving portion. A pipe part of the bobbin is extended from the head part and is fitted in a coupling through hole of the disc main body. The clip includes a connecting portion between the torque receiving portion and the notch and a pressing portion extended from the connecting portion between the head part and the coupling bracket. The coupling bolt is inserted into each of through hole of the bobbin to fix the coupling bracket to the coupling unit.

    摘要: Brake disc drive inserts for use in carbon-carbon composite brake discs. A rotatable brake disc annular drive insert includes a cylindrical steel body having one side of the body truncated to provide an insert opening which extends axially through the body. The insert opening extends into the body along a diameter of the body and the insert opening terminates at a radially extending surface located between the revolutional center of the body and an outer surface of the body. End flanges extend radially outwardly from the outer surface of the body to provide for axial positioning of the drive insert relative to a brake disc. The insert opening has a lining comprising carbon-carbon composite material. This low friction carbon-carbon composite material bed that is positioned between the steel insert component and the torque tube spline location provides significantly lower friction and enables significantly greater disc clamping and brake torque.

    摘要: A disc brake assembly includes a stationary member, a rotating member defining an axis of rotation, a plurality of stationary discs spaced axially along the axis of rotation within the stationary member, and a plurality of movable discs interspaced with the stationary discs. A brake coupler supports the movable discs. During non-braking vehicle operation, the movable discs and the brake coupler remain stationary relative to the stationary discs. During a braking maneuver, the coupler couples the movable discs to the rotating member such that the movable discs are caused to rotate with respect to the stationary discs. Once the coupler and rotating member are interconnected a piston moves the stationary and movable discs together to reduce rotation of the rotating member and brake the vehicle. Once the braking maneuver is completed, a first return spring moves the stationary and movable discs apart and a second spring disengages the coupler from the rotating member to return the movable discs to their original position. This eliminates undesirable drag that occurs between stationary and rotating discs in a disc brake during non-braking vehicle operation.
