    摘要: The present invention relates to a method and hardware for bonding togethernds of a sealing strip. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of cutting a slot in both a first end and a second end of a sealing strip, inserting an attachment strip having a plurality of engaging members into the slot cut into the first end, applying adhesive to the second end of the sealing strip, and placing the two ends of the sealing strip into an abutting relationship by inserting the attachment strip into the slot in the second end and sliding the ends together. The hardware used to effect the method includes an alignment guide having a substantially C-shaped channel for receiving the ends of the sealing strip to be joined together. The alignment guide has an end cap associated therewith having one or more slots for receiving a cutting tool for cutting slots in the ends of the sealing strip. The hardware further includes an attachment strip which is used to join the ends of the sealing strip together.

    摘要: A connector system for mechanically connecting two structural elements to each other, consisting of a connector element and mating grooves in each structural element. The connector element is comprised of a base plate having a split-tongue element at each side or end of said base plate. Each joined element has a mating groove formed into its connector-receiving surface. The mating groove is designed to allow fabrication via four sequential circular saw cuts, without loss of saleable decorative surface, and at a rate consistent with economical commercial production of vinyl, laminate, or hardwood flooring. The connector element is readily extruded in a variety of polymers, including PVC. The connector and mating grooves interact so as to generate a force component acting to forcibly draw the connector into the mating grooves. The connector system operation is relatively insensitive to geometric deviations associated with normal manufacturing methods.

    摘要: A hidden fastener and associated method for attaching decking members with side grooves to a support member includes a cross member and an elongate anchoring member. The cross member has a body with a front and rear end and defines a hole. The front end has at least one prong and the rear end includes a bent wing. At least one leg extends downward from the body intermediate the front and rear ends. Each of the front and rear ends are configured to engage with the groove of adjacent decking members. The front end is inserted into the groove of a leading decking member and the anchoring member is driven through the hole into the support member. A trailing decking member is placed with the rear end in the groove adjacent the leading decking member.

    摘要: A bracket for coupling frames of solar panels includes a spacer for positioning between frames. An elongated body passes through a slot in the spacer and is positionable within channels formed in the frames. A clamp secures to the spacer and is biased toward the slot and elongated body, such as by means of a spring. The clamp defines seats for receiving portions of the frames of the solar panels. Sloped portions on end portions of the clamp facilitate insertion of the frames between the elongated body and the clamp. Another type of bracket includes a spacer and clamp, the spacer having protuberances for insertion into channels in the frames. A flange extends from the spacer such that it extends between the frames when the protuberances are positioned within the channels. An L-foot or other fixture may secure to the flange to secure the solar panels to a structure.

    摘要: A tool for installation of a concealed fastener which may be formed in situ during attachment of a first grooved sheathing member to an underlying support member. The tool has a barrel for holding a fixing member axially and a feeding mechanism for holding and advancing cross members and maintaining a cross member aligned with the fixing member in the barrel. The tool allows insertion of a front end of the cross member into a plank groove whereupon a fixing member may be driven from the barrel through the cross member and partially into a support, thereby securing the plank to the support. The feeding mechanism thereafter advances an uninstalled cross member to the forward position aligned with a fixing member.
