    摘要: A device for heating an article, especially a heat recoverable article, by means of a gas heating tool comprises an element which is preferably hollow and is heated by a flame from the tool, means for positioning the article within the element and a support for retaining the element on the heating tool. In use, a flame from the tool is directed on to the element and the article is heated over a major part of its surface by radiant heat emitted by the element.

    摘要: A heat-recoverable closure device including a tubular member having an opening defining a means for readily communicating with articles disposed within the tubular member after heat-recovery. The closure device includes compression means attached adjacent and generally normal to each portion of the tubular member having an opening. The compression means further includes structure for maintaining it in constant compression during heat-recovery for preventing crack propagation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for fabricating ultra-thin films of pyrolytic carbon. Pyrolytic carbon is vapor deposited onto a concave surface of a heated substrate to a total uniform thickness in the range of about 0.1 to 1.0 micrometer. The carbon film on the substrate is provided with a layer of adherent polymeric resin. The resulting composite film of pyrolytic carbon and polymeric resin is then easily separated from the substrate by shrinking the polymeric resin coating with thermally induced forces.
