Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a method and a device for uploading and downloading files, which belongs to the technical field of computers. The method for uploading files includes, judging whether a local file which is dragged and stopped by a user is entering an activation area of a network file folder, prompting the user to choose whether the user confirms uploading the local file to the network file folder or not if it is, uploading the local file to the network file folder if a confirming uploading information chosen by the user according to the prompt is received. The method for downloading files includes, judging whether a network file dragged and stopped by the user is entering an activation area of a local file folder, prompting the user to choose whether the user confirms downloading the network file to the local file folder or not if it is, downloading the network file to the local file folder if a confirmation of downloading chosen by the user is received according to the prompt. The invention makes the user achieve the uploading or downloading tasks by using only one drag action, which leads to fewer response steps by user and more efficient.
Abstract:
In general, techniques and systems for defining a gesture with a computing device using short-range communication are described. In one example, a method includes obtaining position information from an array of position devices using near-field communication (NFC) during a movement of the computing device with respect to the array, wherein the position information identifies unique positions within the array for each position device from which position information was obtained. The method may also include determining sequence information associated with the position information, wherein the sequence information is representative of an order in which the position information was obtained from each position device, and performing, by the computing device, an action based at least in part on the position information and the sequence information, wherein the position information and the sequence information are representative of a gesture input associated with the movement of the computing device.
Abstract:
In general, techniques and systems for retrieving supplemental information associated with visual media are described. In one example, a method includes obtaining, by a computing device, position information from a position device using near-field communication (NFC), wherein the position information identifies a position of the position device in relation to a portion of visual media associated with the position device. The method may also include receiving, by the computing device, supplemental information that is provided by a networked device based at least in part on the position information, wherein the supplemental information comprises additional information related to the portion of the visual media. In some examples, the position device is included within an array of position devices mounted behind the visual media.
Abstract:
An apparatus for cross-browser testing of a web application is disclosed, including: a first broker residing among a plurality of browsers for receiving information of a user action from a browser operated by a user among the plurality of browsers and for transmitting the information of the user action to other browsers so that the other browsers can execute the user action; a second broker residing between the plurality of browsers and the web application for receiving at least one web request generated by executing the user action from the plurality of browsers and for determining whether to be able to merge the at least one web request, so as to determine whether the plurality of browsers are compatible with the web application. An associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
A computer includes an enclosure and a mainframe module enclosed in the enclosure. The mainframe module includes a base board, a motherboard, a partition panel perpendicularly attached on the base board, and a fan. The motherboard and the fan are attached on the base board at opposite sides of the partition panel. The fan is capable of blowing air to the motherboard to cool heat generating components of the motherboard.
Abstract:
A transmission gate-based spin-transfer torque memory unit is described. The memory unit includes a magnetic tunnel junction data cell electrically coupled to a bit line and a source line. A NMOS transistor is in parallel electrical connection with a PMOS transistor and they are electrically connected with the source line and the magnetic tunnel junction data cell. The magnetic tunnel junction data cell is configured to switch between a high resistance state and a low resistance state by passing a polarized write current through the magnetic tunnel junction data cell. The PMOS transistor and the NMOS transistor are separately addressable so that a first write current in a first direction flows through the PMOS transistor and a second write current in a second direction flows through the NMOS transistor.
Abstract:
In one example, a method includes receiving, by a server, data representative of a group of gestures detected by the plurality of computing devices and data representative of one or more shortcuts associated with the group of gestures from a plurality of computing devices, wherein each shortcut corresponds to an action performed by at least one of the computing devices. The method may further include aggregating, by the server, the data representative of the gestures and the data representative of the associated shortcuts received from the plurality of computing devices based at least in part on detected similarities between at least one of 1) the group of gestures and 2) the associated shortcuts, and defining, by the server, a gesture-shortcut language based at least in part on the aggregated data.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A computer-implemented user interface method is disclosed. The method includes displaying information on a touchscreen of a computing device, receiving from a user of the device an input drawn on the touchscreen, correlating the input to a template, where the correlating includes employing a closed-form solution to find a rotation that reduces angular distance between the input and the template, and providing output based on a result of the correlating.
