Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a containerized network function (CNF) management service is provided. The service may provide for allocating discrete sets of CNF resources deployed as pods to provide application services to end devices; identifying at least one threshold resource value associated with a first number of the deployed pods which are activated to provide the application services; determining an anticipated nonsatisfaction of the at least one threshold resource value associated with the first number of the deployed pods; and invoking, for a period of time, horizontal pod autoscaling (HPA) via an application programming interface to activate a second number of the deployed pods to provide the application services, wherein the HPA is performed non-incrementally until at least one of the period of time has elapsed or each of the deployed pods has been activated to provide the application services.

Abstract: A network device may receive Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) and network information from network components and from a set of Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) nodes; generate descriptions of, or updates to the descriptions of, routing paths based on the NSSAI and the network information; and send the descriptions or the updates to the IAB nodes. The routing paths may include one or more backhaul links between the IAB nodes, and the descriptions and the updates associate each of the routing paths with one or more Single-NSSAIs (S-NSSAIs).

Abstract: In some implementations, a first network device may be associated with a serving gateway control plane function of a core network. The first network device may send, via a first interface, an association message to a second network device that is associated with a session management function and a packet data gateway control plane function of the core network. The first network device may receive selection information from the second network device via the first interface. The first network device may select, based on the selection information, a third network device that is associated with a serving gateway user plane function of the core network. The first network device may cause the third network device to route traffic for a packet data network session associated with a user device.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to host a network function container that implements a microservice for a network function in a wireless communications network, wherein the network function container is deployed by a container orchestration platform; host a service proxy container associated with the network function container, wherein the service proxy container is deployed by the container orchestration platform; and configure the hosted service proxy container to apply a wireless network policy to the microservice for the network function. The processor may be further configured to intercept messages associated with the microservice for the network function using the configured service proxy container; and apply the wireless network policy to the intercepted messages using the configured service proxy container.

Abstract: A packet destined for a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network is received at a wireless station from a user device. A serving gateway (SGW) receives the packet from the wireless station via an S1U GTP tunnel and assigns an uplink S1U General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Tunneling Protocol (GTP) tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID) to the packet. The SGW performs a network address translation (NAT) function on the packet based on the uplink S1U GTP TEID assigned to the packet to form a translated packet. The SGW transmits the translated packet to the MEC network.

Abstract: A computer device may include a memory storing instructions and processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a request for a connection to a Packet Data Network gateway (PGW) from a User Equipment (UE) device; obtain subscription type information for the UE device; and determine that the UE device is associated with a Fifth Generation (5G) subscription based on the obtained subscription type information. The processor may be further configured to obtain a list of available PGWs from a 5G Network Repository Function (NRF), in response to determining that the UE device is associated with the 5G subscription; select a PGW from the obtained list of available PGWs based on a selection rule; and send a create session request for the UE device to the selected PGW.

Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an EASDF secure service. The EASDF secure service may include a network-side service that may validate access and authorization to use a domain name system (DNS) resolver device, such as an edge application server discovery function. The network-side service may validate access and authorization of an end device based on tokens. The EASDF secure service may include an end device-side service that includes a token with a DNS query to the DNS resolver device. The end device-side service may further provide authorization regarding access and use of applications, networks, and application devices that host applications and/or assets by the end device at the end device. The end device-side service may determine access and/or authorization based on tokens and a validation procedure performed at the end device.

Abstract: A device may receive load data identifying loads of network functions provided by a cloud computing environment, resource data associated with resources of the cloud computing environment, and resource distribution data associated with the resources. The device may perform data analytics on the load data, the resource data, and the resource distribution data to identify, from the network functions, a network function being impacted and to determine that the network function requires resource modification. The device may calculate, based on the data analytics and based on determining that the network function requires resource modification, parameters for the resource modification and may perform one or more actions based on the parameters for the resource modification.
