Abstract: A device may receive, from a plurality of sensors, sensor data relating to a user. The device may include a plurality of types of sensors including a spectrometer and one or more of an accelerometer, a heart rate sensor, a blood pressure sensor, a blood sugar sensor, a perspiration sensor, a skin conductivity sensor, or an imaging sensor. The device may process the sensor data, from the plurality of types of sensors, relating to the user to determine a health condition of the user. The device may provide, via a user interface, information identifying the health condition of the user based on processing the sensor data, from the plurality of types of sensors, relating to the user.

Abstract: An optical assembly is disclosed including two laterally variable bandpass optical filters stacked at a fixed distance from each other, so that the upstream filter functions as a spatial filter for the downstream filter. The lateral displacement may cause a suppression of the Oblique beam when transmission passbands at impinging locations of the oblique beam onto the upstream and downstream filters do not overlap. A photodetector array may be disposed downstream of the downstream filter. The optical assembly may be coupled via a variety of optical conduits or optical fibers for spectroscopic measurements of a flowing sample.

Abstract: An optical device may include a narrowband optical filter to receive a beam of light at a selected angle of incidence, wherein the beam of light is caused to be received by the narrowband optical filter at the selected angle of incidence by a steering element included in the optical device, and output a filtered beam of light associated with the beam of light, wherein a wavelength of the filtered beam of light depends on the selected angle of incidence of the beam of light on the narrowband optical filter. The optical device may include a photodiode to receive at least a portion of the filtered beam of light after the filtered beam of light is outputted by the narrowband optical filter.

Abstract: An optical filter is disclosed including two laterally variable bandpass filters stacked at a fixed distance from each other, so that the upstream filter functions as a spatial filter for the downstream filter. Abstract: A scanning laser having a wavelength compatible with a coating binder so as to cure it as the laser scans and irradiates the coating on a moving web. A system and method for curing flakes by providing a scanning laser which scans across a moving coated substrate in a magnetic field allows images to be formed as magnetically aligned flakes are cured into a fixed position. The images have regions of cured aligned flakes. The scanning laser cures the magnetically aligned flakes within it region it irradiates. Alternatively an array of lasers can be used wherein individual lasers can be switched on and off to fix irradiated coating as a moving web is moved at a high speed.

The spectrometer may include a sensor to obtain a spectroscopic measurement based on light, reflected by the sample, from the light illuminating the sample. The spectroscopic assembly may include a light pipe to transfer the light reflected from the sample. The light pipe may include a first opening to receive the spectrometer. The light pipe may include a second opening to receive the sample, such that the sample is enclosed by the light pipe and a base surface when the sample is received at the second opening. The light pipe may be associated with aligning the illumination source and the sensor with the sample.
