Abstract: An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in sidelink communication is presented in which a wireless device receives sidelink control information (SCI) that indicates a zone ID associated with a sidelink message. The wireless device determines a location of the wireless device and determines whether to send feedback for the sidelink message based, at least in part, on the zone ID associated with the sidelink message and the location of the wireless device. The feedback may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, and the sidelink message may include a groupcast message. The wireless device may further receive an indication of an intended range in the SCI and may determine whether to send the feedback based on a combination of the zone ID and the intended range for the sidelink message.

In an aspect, the method includes identifying information for V2X communications, and initiating a random access procedure based on the identified information. The method further includes identifying one or more random access channel (RACH) resources based on the information, identifying one or more RACH response resources based on the one or more RACH resources, and performing directional communications using at least the one or more RACH resources or the one or more RACH response resources.

In certain aspects, a method generally includes determining user equipment (UE) data comprising at least one of one or more parameters about the UE, one or more parameters about objects near the UE, or raw sensor data. The method further includes determining a first level for transmitting a first portion of the UE data based on content of the first portion of the UE data. The method further includes determining a first modulation coding scheme associated with the first level based on a mapping of a plurality of levels to a plurality of modulation coding schemes. The method further includes encoding the first portion of the UE data using the first modulation coding scheme and transmitting the first portion of the UE data from the UE to at least one second UE directly.

Abstract: Low latency enhancements for communication systems, including autonomous driving and/or selection scenarios, are provided. A method for communication includes monitoring communication resources in a communication system, determining a set of candidate resources to use for subsequent transmission of information within a time window such that the time window is minimized based on a desired communication latency parameter that considers at least one or more of communication channel congestion and a priority of transmission, determining a set of lowest energy resources from the set of candidate resources, selecting a low energy resource from the set of lowest energy resources, and transmitting data on the selected low energy resource. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
